  1. 3 in 11 since the loan

  2. Is he actually playing well though?Maybe this loan spell will be the making of him?

  3. Thats 1 more than samaras has got in about a year and a half :97:

  4. fairplay to him.:50:

  5. This man deserves a big chance. He hates the huns, and looks like he's turned into a great wee player down south.

  6. He can't be any worse than what we have got, every guy deserves his chance, maybe lenny will be looking at this thinking he made a mistake sending him out on loan.

  7. No he won't this guy is utter kak .....he is as slow as Dan ...I hope he gets to stay with Southampton ...jmo

    Another goal from him tonight.

I'm guessing he offers a different option at set pieces.

  8. That... or their set pieces are better. Some of our deliveries from free-kicks has been awful from what i've seen recently, particularly when Ki's been taking them.

  9. Josh Thompson is on the bench in that game too.

  10. Couldn't agree with you more there. He's been struggling to get the ball past the first man.

We never threaten to score at corners now though. :54:

  11. Yeah he's been very disappointing recently. I'd say Mulgrew should be on all the set pieces at the moment but I suppose that's a bit impractical if you're playing CB.

Corners are a nightmare apart from the one against Hibs when Stokes scored. Other than that one I can't remember the last time we scored from a corner? The corner to goal ratio last season would also be interesting to see, both for and against us. I know you're not supposed to score from every corner but for a team that gets so many you would expect a good few a seasons.

  12. big differance between playing for celtic than southampton.less pressure, not as many fans on your back if you make mistakes, acceptable to lose more than 4-5 games a season, every mistake not scrutinised by the national media and your not expected to win every single game.it takes a special kind of personality to be a succesful celtic player you need to be more than just a good player.

  13. I'm not really concerned about his goalscoring exploits down there. Has his defending been up to scratch and have they been keeping clean sheets? That's the question that should be being asked.

It's always nice to have a defender that can come up for set pieces and score goals, but you have to remember, they are defenders first and foremost. If they can score goals, then that is merely a bonus.

  14. He's earned another chance.

Regardless of that, I still want to see a CB brought in come January.

  15. The team as a whole doesn't have any better a defensive record than the other teams round about them; but they are the only team over 30 goals scored so far. :50:

  16. Hooiveld wants to stay with Saints

    Also from the BBC.

Jos Hooiveld eager to extend Southampton loan stay

[IMG] Hooiveld's three goals for Southampton have all come in wins by one goal <!-- Empty - Wide embedded hyper -->Southampton's on-loan defender Jos Hooiveld says he would like to extend his stay at St Mary's after his goal in the win over Peterborough on Tuesday.
Richard Chaplow and Hooiveld scored the goals in a 2-1 win over Peterborough, that sent the Saints five points clear at the top of the Championship.
The Dutchman, 28, is on loan from Celtic until January.
"I am here until January but I am very open to staying, yes,"

Hooiveld played 11 times for the Saints, scoring three goals, and has formed a formidable partnership with fellow central defender Jose Fonte.
Southampton's victory over Peterborough was their 10th straight home win in a row this season in all competitions.
Hooiveld said he was delighted to get on the score sheet and added he felt his partnership with Fonte was improving all the time.
"To get the goal was great as it proved to be the winner so I am very pleased with that," he said.
"The partnership with Jose Fonte gets better and better. You need some time to get used to each other and I'm really getting the feeling of starting to know him well."
On the possibility of him staying on past January, he added: "I have not heard anything further, but I am really enjoying myself and the gaffer is pleased with me and I am very pleased to be here."

  17. Well * you too Jos.

  18. bit harsh, I cant blame him, never really given a chance here and he wont under Lenny so whats the problem, I wish him all the best, seems a decent bloke.
