Hayes is required for left back whilst KT is out. Don't trust Izzy at all against anyone half decent with pace..

 

Shame we never got to see the best of him in the Hoops, that a large chunk of that was through injury at a time when Sinclair was off the boil, so missed his opportunity. But says a lot about the guy that he wants to be playing football regularly and should get that back with the Dons.

I don’t actually think we’ll start him against St. Johnstone. I reckon we’ll put Lustig back in at RB and shift Toljan to LB.

 

I didn't notice anything particularly bad and it can be hard to judge a player on 5 minutes

 

Coming on in the last 10 minutes of a game not expecting it, and not even properly warmed up after not playing since December, I think we can cut him some slack here TBH.

 

Tbh I thought his cameo reminded me of Mulumbu against Leipzig.

 

He passed the ball staight into the feet of a Hibs attacker within minutes of coming on

He shouldn't be near the team he offers nothing at all. I'd rather chuck gutman in at left back if Tierney and Emilio aren't fit. Like others have said though toljan at left back and lustig at right back is the wise choice.

 

I wouldn’t, Gutman isn’t registered to us and can’t play so it’s an automatic 3-0 loss unless you’re Sevco.

Sadly that is accurate. He gave the ball away in bad spots a couple of times when he came on late on. Will be interesting to see what Rodgers does come Sunday assuming Izzy is not fit to start. Will he go with Hayes at left back. The mindset being well St Johnstone will just sit in so we can get away with it as Hayes will spend most of the game in attacking positions. Or will he take a more defensive approach and move Toljan over and Lustig back in at right back.

 

He came on with no warm up, he was shoe horned in. I'm not going to judge him on the small appearance. I personally think he is of a fine quality to play against St Johnstone

 

Is his contract up zt end of season?Was it 2 year deal?

 

3 year deal. To be honest with our lack of back up in left back that is probably not a bad thing. Allows another season to push for rb and cb replacement and deal with lb later.

 

This has happened before against der Hun and mcgregor was flung in there and we got humped. BR should learn from his mistake and play Hayes as he did play well against the sheep in that position and to stick mcgregor there, who is so pivotal to our overall play, is criminal.
If mcgregor is at LB, its shows BR has learned nothing, when clearly we all have.
