    Welcome to Celtic Johnny.

Wouldn't have been my signing, but he'll be a great squad player, (Not sure about Europe mind) and I think BR knows a tiny bit more than me... :52:

I guess we could bluesky this and say * it we haven't another left winger ,don't like Forrest on that side anyways and when Sinclairs performances waned a bit , hayes may be a more natural fit to take up the slack.Desmond's talk of aiming for the last 16 of the C.L. looks to be bollocks with signings like this surely we should be aiming for somebody to try and force Sinclair out of the team or up his game

Look how many times toward the end of the season Scotty was not getting as much joy. Looked a bit tired and jaded at times, even when he was playing well. I think Hayes could come on and pick up where Sinclair isn't getting joy.

People to calm the * down man the manager has just done a clean sweep and went unbeaten with near enough the same squad as the season before I think he knows what he's doing clearly

Also this is a good signing I wonder if you lot would still moan had it been a Ronnie signing we all welcomed GMS and Armstrong with open arms

Did we? I again recall feeling underwhelmed as I saw them as very good (at best) players for Dundee United, which doesn't excite me. Thankfully Armstrong has improved dramatically.

Really not keen on welcome threads until there is an official announcement, not trying to be a killjoy guys but come on we all know things can fall through at last minute. Let's not try and race to be first to post a welcome thread....until after it's announced. TalkCeltic is better than that.

If this is gonna be the offical welcome thread though - Welcome to Celtic Johnny Hayes (once you've signed).

Actually really warmed to the guy coming. We'll need a good rotation when we're competing for 4 cups :84:.

Yeah, I guess expecting a higher standard from the forum is maybe something that was more popular 5 years ago....jut because standards slip doesn't mean you just ahve to accept them..but I guesslaughing at about it is eaier than actually saying anything. * it I'm out..carry on.

Plenty here were saying exact same underwhelmed and worse re Griffiths.

Yet Griffiths was a clear and obvious danger to Celtic and so was Hayes.
2 players no one here who actually watches Celtic matches can credibly deny as proven fact.

Both were consistent dangers in sides that were far from filled with great players around them. Hayes was a bollix to defend against at Inverness.

Griffiths is a goal scorer Hayes is a winger and defence splitter

Brendan knows him well and clearly rates him, that was obvious after the Cup final when Brendan went out of his way to have extended words in his ear.
Almost carbon copy of Lennon did to Griffiths post Cup final.

    Martin O'Neil also rates Hayes
"But again, he's another one whose attitude is really top class and good luck to him." O'Neill admitted he's not surprised that Hayes is being linked with a move to Parkhead.

Having watched his few cameo appearances for Ireland, I can say that beyond his expected 100% James McClean like efforts, he can go by players of international class and believes in his ability.
    http://www.newstalk.com/Why-Ireland-could-do-with-a-player-like-Aberdeens-Jonny-Hayes

Anyone who has played soccer must be able to see that Hayes is a tough as nails wee irritating annoying bollix to defend. The sort of player no defender enjoys playing against.
Scott Brown before and after Cup Final referred to Hayes as a excellent player. Maybe he knows more than we do re actual ability on the pitch.

If he was called Juan Haiseirio, some on here would be watching every video from some low ranked sunday league and suggesting all naïve and hunesque like to sign Juan now.

If he signs will be a excellent signing.
