Put it this way, if we let him go to Derby without even making an attempt an then sign Kevin Doyle it will be a disgrace

If we don't get him it wont be the end of the world, but it is just because it would only cost us 750k, it is an absolute bargain. 1 season with us and we could sell him for 4 x that.

It plain terms it would be an amazing deal money wise, playing wise it would just be a good deal.

Point taken but if rumours are to be believed then its the attitude of Watt that will be his downfall at Celtic and not anything else.

Aye, if we let Russell go but them sign Doyle I'd be well * off.

If that's true why have we waited so long?

It will be a disgrace if we don't get him , he's tried and tested in the spl, he'll cost less than 1million, he's still young, can play a number of positions and he's a Celtic fan

There's also no way we wouldn't sell him for more than 750,000 when we sold him on.

For the many of you asking me. The Dundee Utd chairman confirms there has been NO Celtic bid for Johnny Russell. - Jim Spence.

Must be honest, would rather see our youngster develop over signing Russell at this moment.

They're falling over themselves with panic, trying to reassure themselves that Russell will go to them, it seems as if by doing nothing we have mindfucked them

As said by many I'll be disappointed if we let him go without even making a bid and I'm not impressed with being linked with Kevin Doyle

The most frustrating thing about all of this is that we know for a fact he would choose us over Derby, if we just bid £800k for him and hijacked his move :31:

When his agent was asked if it was possible that Russell might not end up at Pride Park, Viola added: "Of course, if another club showed an interest and met Dundee United's valuation of the player. Like I said, nothing has been signed."

Sounds to me like it could still be done. 20 goals in 38 games with United this season. That could easily be more next season operating in a better team and staying injury free.

    31 in 51 for Hooper.

Stokes got 7 in 23 and 9 assists, even though injured for most the season.

Mackay-Steven got 7 goals and 6 assists in 29 games, even though he was out injured for 3 months of the season.

With all four in the same squad we'd have quite a team, but without adding anything particularly different - just really good depth to the squad.

Problem is, their is uncertainty about Stokes and Hooper being here next season.

If they both left Russell and Stevens would be quite similar replacements, affordable, and then we could add a target man.

It's a dilemma, but it's certainly not so bad having all four either. We'd have like for likes on the bench, all guys that can turn the fortunes of a game.

But we'll see what happens. If it happens great if not, then we just have to hope that we can keep the guys we have and add the target man/physical striker that Lenny wants.

It says the bid from Derby is £772,000, £800-850,000 would be a good place to start.

A lot of panicking on here. If I'm reading the situation correctly, Celtic are waiting for United to officially accept an offer from a club, before stepping in and matching it. Once they match the bid, it would then be down to Russell, as to where he wants to go.

I just don't understand this, less than 1m is an absolute steal and we don't even make a bid :54:
