War-mongering *. One of the most prominent drum beaters for the Iraq War. Bad appointment. I don't care if he's a Tim.

You want to see how he does - he'll have body and retina scanners installed at CP in a week.

You'll be on the front line in Iraq within 2 weeks

John * Reid - give me a break

In a word - No. A non exec chairman is there to give advice on running a business and to oversee major decisions. I dont think there will be too much of a change to be honest. WGS still runs the football, Peter Lawell still does his bit.

I can just picture WGS standing as a character witness at Reid's as yet to be arranged war crimes tribunal in the Hague.

"See, yes aw bang oan aboot statistics, over 100,000 dead, nae WMDs, 80% unemployment and that's just ye've all got a problem wi looking at the positives"

The Celtic Song so long as Dean Park doesn't sing it.
Ah yes John Reid my ex MP. I met him at the count in Airdrie at the last General election when I was supporting our candidate from the SSP. just before the results were announced by the returning officer I was talking to Caroline Leckie when one of Bush's lackey's John Reid marched into the sports centre at Rawyards in Airdrie and I said "Hello Mr Reid did you find your way to Airdrie OK?" * of a local MP, but I hinted that there may be weapons of self destruction in Ibrox.

Interesting point of view its funny that, apart from 1945, 1997 & 2001 your so called right wing neighbour in England had to suffer Labour Governments that it hadnt voted for because of our union with Scotland and Wales and their contribution to Westminster and we accepted it. Believe me when you dig behind the vaneer of this new labour lot they are not right of centre, alot of them were running loony left Councils in the mid 80s and before any one has a go i know for a fact that I aint the only Tory voting Englishman that supports this club lol!

As for John Reid he is a politition and an academic so wheres his business background that would make him any use to our Board, he should take his Life Peerage and retire quietly.

That to me has always been the main arguement for devolution and maybe independence rather than patriotism 'last refuge of the rogue'. On average, the two countrys political and social values are just too different. The westminster MP head count for each party shows the chasm. I remember the last 2 tory goverments with huge English votes and I think it was 0 and 1 MP in Scotland respectively. I actually thought it was worse and that even in the Labour landslides the English voted more Tory than Labour. I think the next step is greater powers and maybe making UK a federal state like Germany. Actually ending the UK would be very messy and I cant see that happening anytime soon unless the Torys got back in. Problem with Labour is that they have not really been what it says on the tin since Clement Atley.
