    I agree there.

I respect your opinion but there is an awful lot of sensationalism to what John Reid has actually done from some members.

That boils me tbh because I only expect that waffle from Rangers and the Daily Ranger.

I agree. There is too much sensationalism, and this of course fuelled by anti-celtic tabloid journalists.

What did you think of his tenure as secretary of state in the north ??

He did well to reduce the number of British Army personnel and structures in the North, that was causing alot of tension and then alot of finger pointing at all sides for violence/paramilitary activity/organised crime.

I think we should just let this rubbish go with John Reid , we should be more concerned about Celtic and not what John Reid did when he was a politician. If we cant do that then their really is no hope. The man speaks Celtic his concerns are for Celtic and not whats going on in the world of politics hes here to continue to help Celtic be number one in this league and in my opinion he will do that. We should all be giving our full support to Celtic not just the team but the board and everything Celtic orientated.

I agree, as issues go, this is almost a non runner for me. Its the sensationalism of some facts that is bugging me.

    I'm away to support Celtic

    Hail Hail!

Did he not bow to unionist stallling tactics over the decomissioning issue though. . . Anyway, that is neither here nor there. I just was asking your opinion.

Its good and healthy to discuss these things and have differing opinions.:50:

I would rather that than everyone blindly following whatever comes out of CP. That got us into a lot of trouble in the past.

He shouldn't go. He's doing a good job at Celtic imo and that's all I care about tbh. I don't really pay attention to his past.

For all those who doubt the man's credentials or motives, if he was lined up against a certain Mr. Bain you'd fall over yourselves to choose him first.

The fact that he has fantastic contacts at all levels of trade, industry and politics would certainly not have been lost on Peter Lawell and I'd be more than surpirised if Mr. reid hasn't already been chewing a few ears over one thing or another.

If you can't make the correlation between business and politics then you'll have a hard time appreciating one of the reasons he'll be such a good chairman for the club. You use Fergus and Desmond as examples but I can assure you that both of them would not be where they are now if they weren't also very astute politicians. The two go hand in hand in case it's still not clear to you.

At a time when a lot of our rivals supporters are calling for a complete clean out from nose to toes, we look very secure both financially and at boardroom level. I'm not sure if you're old enough to remember the dark days of McGinn and cronies but trust me...we've never had it so good!
