Surely Scott Allen will help lower the 3 million.

Hibs fans want Allan so i'm sure there's a deal to be made.

What if the board don't rate him at the price though? Should they just pay it anyway? :43:

It's the going rate for a midfielder with his potential , Sutton suggested 5m so is 3m really unrealistic?
2m + allan or 3m and no allan possibly.

I don't get the Celtic fans that are just saying pay the 3 million & get on with it. Why would a club pay an amount they don't need to, yes other clubs are looking at McGinn from England but will McGinn want to go there? We all know McGinn is as much as a Celtic fan as Tienrey & there is no way he is going to agree to go down south, when we are interested in him.

I'm like most people. I don't think he would replace anybody we have in the team at the moment so could wait & get him for zero next summer. He would get more game time then with Brown being a year older & needing rest.

Regardless of what some fans think of how big an impact he could make, Brendan has already spoke openly about wanting the player in and if the board don't get his targets for the summer they would be failing the manager.

That doesn't mean we should be held to ransom by Petrie. We hold all the aces here, the player wants to come to Celtic and if they choose to dig their heels in he will sign a pre-contract for us in January.

    I wouldn't go a single penny over £2million + Scott Allan.

Maybe only opinion, but he wants the best for his club and I dont begrudge him for that as Id want the same from whoever was in charge or running our club.

Hail Hail the Celts are here
If Brendan wants him he should push to get him NOW. Why scrimp and let him waste a season at Hibs again? NOW, instill a winning mentality, tutored by Brown before his legs go, potential Champs League games under his belt?

He’ll be a better player for us next season if he comes NOW. Waiting a season is ridiculous, just to save 2m or so? The experience he will get this season at Celtic - you couldn’t buy for 2m or so. What do you put your money into the club for? Shareholders or the players to keep improving and winning trophies?

We want him, he wants to come, get it done. Which I’m sure will happen, the board better not start frustrating Brendan.

    2. what?
    3. Theres not a * chance this kid is starting CL games for us. He'll be lucky to get a league cup berth
    4. What are you basing that on exactly? Its more probable * spend his time on the bench
    5. 2m that could go towards the fee for a top class centre back or right back? * right we should keep it. * hibs and their demands.

Who gives a * if its 2m or 3m ? In the grander scheme if you rate the player and think he will be a success here why would the fee bother you when are talking about a million quid. The football economy has changed we are quick to demand top dollar for our players , Hibs are entitled to do the same.

As you say Hibs are entitled to do this, just as we do. The big difference is we hold the cards on this one. We don't need McGinn right now, McGinn wants to come here so can say no to any other deals offered & come to us next season for nothing. Hibs can't let a player like McGinn leave for nothing next season, the way we can. I give a * about the extra million as that could be put toward a good CB.

So Sutton is saying to pay the £5m while Hibs have told his paper their price is £3m.

    Well done Chris :giggle1:
