Go in low at the start, bid gets knocked back and becomes public knowledge, player finds out about bid, player stated to club he would like to move..

We id it with the boy from Peterborough a few seasons ago and it sent the owner over the edge and he went on sky sports slating celtic.

After our 3-0 win in Pittodrie, Mcinnes said his best player last season (Hayes) is a Celtic player, and his best player this season is a Celtic player (talking about Christie).

He has gradually improved and he wont get a game here due to the competition. Loan him out again 6 months to a year and then re assess. There is nothing to lose.

He’s not good and he won’t be in 6 months or in 6 years. If anything Christie was worse last season than the season before for Aberdeen.

I'm sure hibs would like Christie on loan + maybe Allan perm and 2m. As they would have lost McGinn their main player and McGeough...maybe that's whats holding the deal up who goes where.

Need to agree to disagree on that. In my opinion he was espcially good the first half of last season. Considering he is playing at a level higher than Morgan was, there is more than enough justification to give him some more time.

Think Hibs have a friendly tomorrow, soon see if he plays that would be him missing 2 games.

BRENDAN Rodgers last night dropped a heavy hint that John McGinn will become a Celtic player within the next few days.

In what for the Celtic manager were uncharacteristically candid remarks about a transfer target – he normally sidesteps such matters – the Northern Irishman revealed he expected Hibernian to agree a deal which would also see Scott Allan move to Easter Road on a permanent transfer.

Celtic had a £1.5m bid knocked back this week for 23-year-old midfielder McGinn. Hibs were unhappy with what they saw as a poor offer for their best player.

The champions are expected to make an increased offer over the weekend and when asked about the situation, Rodgers said: “I just wait to see what happens between the clubs, really. I’ve nothing more to say on that. I think it’s what happens in negotiations. That will be organised, hopefully, between the two clubs – and hopefully we have another player.”

Rodgers doesn’t have a timeframe but added: “It’s going to take a bit of time and negotiation. We’ll just wait and see.

“I think we want to get them in as soon as we can, being honest. If it’s not to be, you have to wait. You have to be patient.”

Well you just answered your own question by stating the McGeouch situation they let happen, and Petrie has a history of not selling to us or that mob, do you not remember his stance with Fletcher and with Allan to them.

They offered mcgeouch improved terms and he didnt accept. He wound down his contract, as did Fyvie before he left.
With one year left, now is the time to cash in on mcginn, if not with celtic then Derby or another English team. They have to rebuild the spine of their team and know Celtic have a strong financial footing. Plus almost a third of the fee will be headed St Mirrens way.

Naturally Petrie is going to want the best money for his players. They got good money for Fletcher, they held out for a fee they felt was acceptable. It was Celtic who didnt want to pay the money. It was a costly decision for Celtic and one that angered WGS. It is a falacy that there is ill feeling towards Celtic. Every player has a price.

And if Petrie keeps his * up then McGinn will leave for hee haw the same way McGeouch did, Petrie is no friend of Celtic given some of his pish on the boards of both organisations in charge of our game.

He wont be at Hibs at the end of this transfer window.

I think he is good but not enough to get in front of his competition.

Putting aside his moving on comments about the huns and their European license, he was quite openly celebrating with the monkeys on helicopter sunday he has also complained constantly about the away end at Parkhead’s restricted view and asked it be closed. It’s also one of the worst kept secrets that him and Lawwell hate each other. And the * also backed McPished for the Scotland job to help clear his EBT.

Brendan wants him on board, looks like were going to have to pay the money or risk losing him to England...We have just banked 7m for Armstrong so there shouldn't be a problem and we have spent more money than that on dross.

John McGinn warning for Celtic as Hibs ready to hold out for £3million
Hibees chairman Rod Petrie is determined to hold out for double what Celtic originally bid for the Scotland international

Hibs will hold on to John McGinn unless Celtic double their bid to £3million.

The Parkhead club made a first offer of £1.5m for the midfielder last week, which was rejected by Easter Road chiefs.

MailSport understands that Hibees chairman Rod Petrie is determined to hold out for a £3m fee – despite the Scotland midfield star having just 12 months left to run on his contract.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign McGinn after Stuart Armstrong’s departure to Southampton and Celtic are expected to return with an improved offer this week.

But the Premiership champions are reluctant to meet Hibs’ asking price when the 23-year-old could be snared on a pre-contract in January.

Celtic lead the race for McGinn, who should feature against Blackburn Rovers today in Paul Hanlon’s testimonial match.

But he won’t be signed in time for their Champions League qualifying round tie against Aleshkert on Tuesday night as the clubs continue to haggle over his price tag.

McGinn has been exceptional for Hibs since arriving in 2015 and is now a regular in the Scotland national squad.

Brendan said we must get a replacement in for Armstrong and Roberts before looking to strengthen other areas of the team, If were haggling at 3m here for the first target think it's going to be a long summer.
