Probably, deserves a chance tho, maybe until Jan, if not punt now. Wouldn't loan him for a 3rd season.

He actually got a few game's in a 6 month period under Brendan, I think?

It's been mentioned before but a loan to England and a maximum fee after is probably what we should be looking to do..

Could be in by Monday ,don't expect it to drag on however we probably have more important targets for other positions.

No even sure how long he's got left..

Sounds bad as at 1 point I thought he'd make it here but I genuinely don't give a * where he goes as long as we get the best fee possible..

It begs the question tho what's the point of him going to Aberdeen giving a good account of himself(winning POTY in his 1st season) and returning and not getting a chance.. does it send the wrong message to players on the periphery..?

If your not good enough tho that's football..

I don't even think he was getting in the side near the end of the season..

He's still been at a good club and will have improved, just probably no enough for us..

Ajer is proof that if you're a real excellent standout, then you're good here..

Christie runs into players too much for me and doesn't know when to release the ball, no doubt has something but i'm not quite sure he's got enough to make it with us.

I thought the point of the loan was to develop him further from close view. He played the majority of games and the sheep acted fairly on their end. He looked good and at times sharp and ideas when he was given a bit of freedom. So for me he deserves the first half of the season to try and break through. Show his worth and value to our midfield. If Rodgers doesn’t fancy him give Aberdeen first shout in January.

McGinn has plenty of scope and I bet Brendan is eager to work with him , he's like McGregor or Forrest in the fact that there was untapped potential there.

McGinn has strength and presence and can get about the park, that's why i think he would do well.

Brendan Rodgers insists Celtic won't give up the chase to land John McGinn
Hoops boss saw a £1.5million offer for the Hibs midfielder rejected last week but admitted more talks are planned

Brendan Rodgers insists he won’t give up the chase to land John McGinn.

The Celtic boss saw a £1.5million offer for the Hibs midfielder rejected last week but admitted more talks are planned.

Rodgers said: “I just wait to see what happens between the clubs, really.

“That will be organised, hopefully, between the two clubs – and hopefully we have another player.”

Rodgers refused to be drawn on suggestions Liverpool had put the blockers on a loan bid for Welsh kid Harry Wilson.

But the Hoops manager admitted he’s determined to bolster his squad for the Champions League bid.

Rodgers said: “We need to strengthen. We have a core squad that’s very strong and We want to add to that.

“But I don’t need to add guys who will be on the bench. I want guys who can come in and affect the team.

“It’s going to take a bit of time and negotiation.

To improve, the reality is that there has to be investment. We can’t deny that but the players here have developed very well, players who have been fantastic for two years.

“To bring someone in who is ahead of them is going to take money.”

Rodgers is looking to strengthen but he insisted there had been no official move from Everton for Kieran Tierney.

The Parkhead club – who face Shamrock Rovers in Dublin today – are braced for a £25m bid but the manager insisted the star’s head has not been turned.

Rodgers said: “Kieran has been absolutely brilliant, as per normal.

“He’s totally focused and, thankfully, he’s at a club he loves. There has been no change in Kieran.”

Hail Hail the Celts are here
If the 1.5m is about right is it any wonder Hibs knocked it back? A promising young International player proven in the league you’re looking to play him in? We paid over 4m for Scott Brown all those years ago ffs! In today’s market, another 4m might be what’s required. I’m sure Hibs wouldn’t be able to knock back 2.5m to 3m but that’s not the point, it’s kind of exploitative. Hibs have been a great feeder team over the years and deserve to be treated with respect.

As for McGinn himself, I like him. Yes he’s raw but if anyone in this league can smooth him out and improve him, it’s Brendan. Like his work ethic and would take him over that headless chicken Armstrong all day. If Armstrong’s worth 7m then pay the right price for JM please Celtic.

If we get McGinn over the line , that would leave a RW, CB and a RB to spend some good money on..while hopefully keeping Dembele' and Tierney.. that would give us a far stronger squad depending on who the 3 others that came in.
