Sick and tired of the "look at broony now" /"he's just like broony was" /"stop looking doon yer nose" patter

He's an SPL player who had a decent season in the * 2nd tier and had a handful of decent displays against ourselves... yet we're all supposed to break out the bubbly for a player we dont even * need.

Not only that, we're supposed to * out a reported 4 million for a player whose never kicked a ball in europe in the last months of his * contract?

We're are all the other clubs lined up for this kids signature? Our closet competition is * sunderland...a league one basket case

Some of or supporters see a hoops connection and all else goes out the window. This "bring him home/He's one of us" * is pure sevconite patter

If he signs he has or support and we will ALL wish all of things others are so certain are going to happen. Just like we do with Hendry and morgan and just like we did christie /allan /hayes /Gms /cifti/

some like myself are just sick of seeing our club * millions so called spl world beaters and having to watch them struggle

We've signed some great homegrown players from other clubs it's important we look in that market..

 

Don't buy into this "I'd take him for one million but not for four million" talk. He's either an improvement to the squad, so we should sign him, or he's not good enough so we should avoid at any price. Neither fee is unreasonable for us to pay for a player who would improve us.

Mcginn is a safe signing if he doesn't make the grade then we will likely make our money back if he is sold on. Or he could turn out to be a useful player and play with us for years.

Low risk move but hardly the marquee signing for Europe that we always wish for.

 

Can take corners too , might help having Griffiths off them or when he's not playing.

 

McGinn is also the most fouled player as well though, I think fouled something like 40 times more than any other player in the League.

 

Yeah, granted those stats aren't some be all and end all of the "who's better" argument, which I certainly never intended those to be for.

Merely some sort of perspective about what both guys achieved/have achieved pre-Celtic.

Yes the standard of player in the league has decreased, but then so has the standard of player that we buy unfortunately.

McGinn should be judged on what he can bring to Celtic, and not on if he's better than Brown was at 20/21.

 

1 million because he would improve the squad. Not 4 million because he wouldn't immediately improve the first team so isn't worth the money to us. Not difficult to comprehend

 

Oh aye. Signing John McGinn still shows a distinct lack of ambition though, surely we should be aiming higher.

We just signed Rogic on a long term deal as well.
& in fairness we signed KT on a 6 year deal.
These are all signs of an ambitious club.
Not sure why you can’t see this.

 

They are signs of an ambitous club. That's why i find it weird we're trying to sign John McGinn rather than someone with genuine quality who will make an impact for us in Europe.

I basically think Rodgers is a better basis for a judge on talent - especially a midfielder - than anycunt on here.

 

I think he will be a good fit for us, energetic, enjoys a battle, good passer of the ball with a decent shot. Good character for the dressing room.

His main problem at Hibs is he does too much, constantly all over the pitch doing everything in defence and attack. Since we dominate games with ease he can pick and choose his moments, keep himself fresher and the game will be a lot easier for him.
