Brown was branded a headless chicken, bull in a china shop etc. by plenty on here when first signed, he took a long time to mature into his current role. McGinn's attributes are plain to see, even if he's not coming straight in as a nailed on starter I don't see how anyone can think he wouldn't be a good addition to the squad.

It just depends how much scope he has in him..

I've no doubt Brendan will improve him, but how much is the question..

People see the game differently and i can understand why people want him here, just not for me.

McGinn has been bullied serveral times this season against the Huns, Hearts, Aberdeen, Killie. A couple of good games against us doesn’t mean he’s some sort of world beater.

The amount of times he’s loses the ball after a poor first touch and runs down blind alleys is frightening. Don’t think he reads the game well at all and he doesn’t keep it well either, especially under pressure. There’s a reason he flings himself to the ground as soon as he’s crowded out.

He’ll be our worst midfielder technically, by a long * way. He’s no composure whatsoever.

Aye. He’s nowhere near Broony or Ntcham.

No one's saying he doesn't have qualities, or hasn't had good game's..

He's played well and RAISED his game against us, but equally I've seen him terrorized and bullied at home to the mutants when they lost and against the diets at Tynecastle..

His strength and tenacity is a quality but sometimes also a hindrance...where he sticks his * out or is trying to get the ball under control and clumsily is dispossessed, which I've seen numerous time's..

Very rash in the tackle and his basic passing can be atrocious..

I'm no dead against the move. At time's I've been wanting him like both of you, but.....I have some reservations of 1. Where he fits in and 2. If he's gonna improve us..

No they are not. Armstrong was bought as a box to box midfielder and that is the role that Mcginn currently plays for Hibs.
Currently, Mcginn plays more like Petrov than he does Brown although im sure in time he will be used more defensively.

As said previously, we will have potentially more games this season than we did last season. He will play in both rotation of the squad and as cover for Brown and Ntcham if they are injured. A big squad is needed, especially when in europe.

Exactly. Brown's passing was * horrific, and in all honesty only been the last few years its improved.

Doubt this, Hibs signed McGinn on a bosman and only had to pay a Development fee as he was under 23. Why would they agree to pay 1/3rd of his sale when they could likely have signed him for under £150k :97:

He's improved it big time but I always felt it's been under-rated anyway beforehand..

He has played three quality games against us scoring at twice at celtic park.
He was good against Rangers last season. He also was one of the better players in the scottish cup win.

You could argue that Brown and Ntcham were overrun against Hearts away, Hibs away and then Aberdeen in the last game. Does it make them bad players? No.

Rash in the tackle? How many red cards did he have last season? 1?

McGinn was going to take St Mirren to court for loss of earnings for Thomson sticking a spear in his leg or something.

St Mirren waived the development fee for a sell on ignition he dropped his claim.

Was only Hibs and Owen Coyle while he was in America that wanted him so when they thought McGinn was going to America for nothing they dropped the tribunal stuff.

Stokes and Henderson were their two keep players in their Scottish Cup win, that doesn’t mean they’re good enough for us.

I would put good money on the people desperate to sign McGinn are the same ones that were saying Henderson would be a star here...

Don't remember him whatsoever from the semi at Hampden..

Nah because in almost every big game they absolutely bossed it when it mattered..

Him and Shinnie are officially/statistically the dirtiest player's in the league..

I’ve had this same argument on here a million times mate. Some people ivnore good qualities when they play in Scotland, weirdly get all defensive when the English do it to us.

It was another example of a big performance the ld put in.

Iv seen enough of Mcginn to know that a few on here have hardly seen him play.

Not sure what Henderson has to do with it. I thought he was unlcuky when Lennon left as he had shown potential but I had no qualms when he was let go. He gave a good account of himself and was like by the fans at Rosenborg, Hibs and now Bari. There is a player there but he just want right for us at the time. Id like to see him do well. Remember people once though Mulgrew wasnt good enough.

Aye don't get me wrong, I've swayed back and forth on whether I want us to sign him, but I definitely do now. He wouldn't walk into our team but he'd be an excellent rotation option with the scope to take over from Brown when he slows down and retires.

Aye, he’s also the exact type we need in Europe for me. We need to stop being a soft touch, not getting into peoples faces, not defending properly and then greeting about getting pumped.

I mean the final at Hampden, albeit it was a different Rangers team at the time.

I agree he fell short against Hearts when Lennon threw the toys out the pram but he put in a lot of great performance last season, some against us.

Iv got no issues with players who have a fiery/competative streak. But he isnt an absolute weapon like Ryan Jack.

Not sure about this. No doubting his talent but our central midfield isn’t exactly lacking in depth.
