Doubtful but not against this one. Very similar to Brown in his younger years

Don't see Hibs selling for £1.5 mil

All depends if Lennon wants the money to fund other players like commons ambrose and mulgrew

Perfect player to slot in and to give brown and armstrong a rest. Will give 100 percente and is also a tim. young aswell and brendan will improve his game. Seems a no brainer to me. I think people are guilty of looking down there nose because hes from the spl but thats where we got brown and armstrong.

But he's not even from the SPL, albeit he has played there a few years back.

I think looking down the nose is a totally natural thing to do. A boy at 22-23 playing Championship football who we aren't watching playing every week. Let's be serious, most on this forum will have only watched McGinn a handful of times especially since he left St.Mirren, Hibs just aren't on the tele enough to suggest otherwise.

If anything (and it's pure guesswork), I would say those that are mad keen to sign him are probably overrating McGinn.

From the little I've seen, all the hype, Scotland call ups, Celtic fan etc - I am inclined to take a risk on him, but I'm really not sure how good he is. I'm guilty of believing/buying the hype.

Armstrong can give our new champions league material midfielder a rest. We don't need more squad players we need qaulity. Ones that are simply better than we have.

Any signing is a risk tbh n we dont know how it could go but i see more chance of someone like mcginn being able to fill the gap of scott brown in a few year after improving at the club than a foreign so called champions league level player which never really payed off in the past like jarosik ,graversen and juninho. Because you pay a lot of money or get a fancy name doesnt guarantee * all. I know gms and allan are examples of signing from the league and it not working but mcginn seems to have more fight than the two of them put together.

Fair enough and I do get why the link is made with Brown, I just don't know the credence in it.

I remember watching Brown at Hibs and thinking he could become a Champions League caliber player for us. Then his UCL debut away in Moscow, at what must of been 21-22, you just knew it was there. He may not have been the most talented player, but there was something about him that stood out. Picked up stupid bookings but he ran all night long and would never hide. A driving force in a quite laborious midfield.

I'm not sure if McGinn has that, he could probably do a similar job that the 22-25 year old Brown done, but to do the job Brown does now is a different question and a different mental and skill set. I would honestly love him to be the one, under £2m young Scot, a tim, I really do hope you are right.

He'd cope in Scotland fine, that much is obvious.

The only question is about whether he could be developed into something greater. I think the scope and potential is definitely there.

For £1-1.5m I'd take him. I must admit though, I have often watched him and felt he looked decidedly average technically, a bit awkward on the ball and passing isn't amazing. His energy, tenacity and willingness to work is perhaps what is attracting Rodgers the most.

At the end of the day, if he feels he can make a much better player out of him, who the * are we to argue. Really.

Don't see the point to be honest. If Brendan wants him then fair enough but we need to be buying CL quality this summer. We don't need anyone to improve us domestically. Henderson and Christie are more than capable of doing that so I don't see why we'd let either of them go to bring in McGinn.

A year or two ago, aye.
Now though we need a lot better.
We have the domestic scene down. We have potential in out squad at that age as well. We need a ready made better player than we already have. Otherwise whats the point?

Great back up to give our players a wee rest if needed.

Also, if Brendan thinks he has the potential to go far, then he will no doubt be able to improve him.

Would be gladly proved wrong but would pass on him.

Better player in McGreggor and not good enough at this moment.

Would barely play next season IMO.

Daily Record saying we are favourites to sign him over Sevco. I don't know if we are interested in him or not not McGinn would hardly go Sevco whenever he grew up supporting the bhoys??
