  1. 4m for a player we dont need. Nope.

Gk, cb, right back. These positions NEED new blood.

Spending that kind of money on an spl player is an extravagance imo

If it's a go-er it won't be for anything near £4 million, especially if Allan is being used as a makeweight in the deal.

  4. We paid over 4m for Ntcham, McGinn is nowhere near that level.

    1m + Allan.

I'm not sure how I feel about McGinn coming here, he's a decent player but isn't going to take us to the next level right now. I'm not convinced he will develop into that player either. He would certainly strengthen any other SPFL team though.

I guess if the fee is low enough and we are getting rid of the likes of Allan, Christie, Armstrong and Bitton it would make a bit more sense for us to get him as a squad player, but only if the price is right, I don't think he's worth payong over the odds for.

  6. Bring him home.

  7. Using Allan as a potential makeweight in the deal with maybe 2m going to hibs seems fair and he only has 12month on his contract left so anything more seems fanciful i think they will deal and mcginn probably wants to come to us too being a celtic man..it strengthens them and also us.

If we are after him (I think we are) and if he wants to come here (I think he does), then for Hibs surely it becomes a matter of lose him now, and likely get some money AND Scott Allen in, or loose him next summer for nothing and risk not getting Allen, knowing we will probably move him on this summer regardless.

Or do we/Can we make some sort of deal, where Allen goes to Hibs first - on a loan principle. McGinn stays at Hibs for the European qualifiers but then comes to us later in the window when Hibs are finished with qualifiers (hopefully by getting to the groups of course).

  9. I've changed a few time's to lastly no wanting him..

We know he'll immediately cut it domestically. Will give Broony more help/less leg work. Will add balance to the central midfield being left footed and possibly may even be a Ledley cover type for Izzy, with KT bombing on. Has room for improvement under Brendan and in a better side..

That's the positives I'm looking at as this link seems to be growing arm's and lengths..

I'm still unconvinced he'll grow to be the player many think, although it is possible..

If his passing is as sloppy as it can be at Celtic Park....he better get ready for the stick that follows. Also, he gives away so many fouls and is the second most booked player in Scotland I'm sure. Expect a fair few red's in the hoops..

    Gentleman agreement.

Hibs are likely going to want him to stay, if not for the whole season, at least while they play some big matches. So Unless we are sweetening that deal, who's to say they don't just keep telling us - after Europe

  12. I doubt we are after him, purely because the media never get a hold of our targets these days until the day they sign.

  13. How about buy him now with Allen as part of the deal, but loan McGinn back to hibs for the season. Would bring the suggested asking price way down, good business for both teams.

  14. Pre-Brendan I'd take him 100%, but I feel we're in exciting times and really looking to move up a level. It's just not the right time for McGinn imo

  15. i think last season when you look at rodgers , rotating before bigger european games, the players coming resulted in us dropping points, be good to have him for occasions like that , you know hes reliable and give the likes of brown a needed rest

  16. Got a feeling "* sake McGinn" will be a popular phrase next season.

  17. He'd play totally different for us though most likely. At Hibs he's the driving force in attack and defence - he's like their Armstrong and their Brown in the one player, trying to kick off attacks and go on runs with the ball, break lines and push the team forward and he tries to hold midfield together and be the main man breaking up play andd getting back to mop up. He does a power of running and when you play like that you lose composure with the rest of your game.

If he was playing for us, he wouldn't need to do half the running he does now. He could pick his moments and concentrate on other parts of the game without always being under pressure to do it all.

  18. Said for months for me this one is a stick on to get done, Lenny and Brendan will have spoken about it 100%.

Don't be surprised to see Allan and 1 other (loan deal) going with a few quid to hibs for this one

I’m beginning to think he may be bought and loaned back to hibs for the season

Brown says he could do another couple of years say 2 seasons. If McGinn goes back to hibs for the season he has regular football under Lenny and then after he can be phased in gradually if that becomes browns final season

Would also give enough time for players to stake their claim or move on. Would imagine if that were to happen the midfield would be thinned out.

Just my thinking. Admire McGinn as a player and think he is a successor to Brown in every aspect. See that as the logical option
