Thought he was excellent, and I'd even go as far as saying he got the better of Broony on the day.

Not sure I'm a fan of Brendan's comment either on them still be "level's apart". I am in no way insinuating that they are both at the same level, but his comments made it out as if he was comparing Broony to Ian Black. McGinn looked class.

I see him as browns successor, he plays like a younger brown and imagine how much he can improve under Rodgers. The price would need to right though and 4 mil is too much.

Hope we can do a deal with hibs. Ideally punt Armstrong in January then bring in McGinn with some of the proceeds.

I’m sure he only has 18 months left on his current deal so we might be able to get a favourable deal if we throw in a couple of useless players that could add to Hibs (I.e Allan and Henderson) on top of a small cash sum.

I think it was a bit of psychology by Rodgers, he was basically saying Broony is untouchable(a nod to his captain) he did praise McGinn at the same time though. Maybe also getting John McGinn pumped up for Wed night and letting him know he’s got a bit to go. He did the same before the Motherwell games, just reminding the referees that they’re dirty feckers, and I suppose it worked with the Sinclair penalty. I hope we sign McGinn, he’s got a great attitude, knows the club, and keeps improving. When he left St Mirren I thought Hibs was his level but he’s done brilliant. I think hos best position is right in the heart of midfield, but also think he could cover for Tierney if we gave him a rest. He’s got a great burst of pace, and is brilliant when there is space in front of him. His range of passes, especially long passes has also really improved. I think he’s an old school midfielder, he’s got a bit of everything. I’d definitely sell Armstrong ASAP, while he’s still got a bit of value. He’s well off the pace.

Imo mcginn is a must sign play the boy in the cm next to Brown and he can learn from the best I think of we offer £3mil + Henderson they will accept it niel Lennon isn't stupid he knows John mcginn will leave hibs keeping in mind he would probably prefer to sell him to ur as there's a connection evan offer some one on loan like ajer for 18 months to sweeten the deal and sign a top cb and a rb and a gk we fdefo need a good transfer window to compete with EL teams plus the European football will be a massive attraction for mcginn

He's a must sign! We can't let him get away to some * championship team.

Do what needs to be done to sign him Celtic.

Alot of people would have said Brown wasn't worth 4mil when we bought him, even still a couple of seasons into his time with us.

If you consider him a younger, potential replacement for Brown, and considering how much the money in football has inflated since we bought him, 4mil would be a reasonable investment.

I get that but although football has inflated in value Scottish football hasn't and I'd say with 18 months left I don't think he's worth the £4million value.

100% Lenny and Brendan will have spoke about him during their many meals together, Lenny will have said to John keep it up Brendan is watching and there is a chance they will make a move and lenny will have a player or 2 in mind to go the other way, we dont need armstong to be sold to buy mcginn, but ultimately armstong will leave either in Jan or defo in May/June.

If lenny said McGinn for £2m plus Henderson on a perm and Benyu or Ajer on loan to end of season its a no brainer for me.

Don’t want him, not good enough, if we want to get to the next level, players like him simply won’t do it.

How did you come to that conclusion?

Technically speaking, players like Kelvin Wilson and Scott McDonald took us to the "next level" more than what Virgil van Dijk or Moussa Dembele have done thus far.

Sell Armstrong and bring him in, he has what it takes to make it at European level plus great leadership for a young player.

I don’t think he’s that good. Would he do a job against CL or EL midfielders? Doubt it.

That said, he got the better of Broony and that’s including the ‘fouls’ on Broony which weren’t.

Did anyone think brown could do it before I signed? Many thought he couldn't after we signed him for quite a while.

Imagine brown 10 years ago learning from Rodgers, that's where I think mcginn has an advantage and could be his replacement but potentially better after a few years under Rodgers.
