Few places reporting he is having a medical though, which suggests it’s just about done.

 

Can anyone hand on heart say they would have been happy paying John McGinn £23k a week, I cant but it is our own fault!

 

If he’s gonna be here for the duration, and the next Scott Brown ... which is the opinion of most. Then aye, I’d pay that, absolutely.
The main point is Brendan’s clearly stated he wants him and we haven’t got him. On top of what other players ? He’s gonna be raging.

It wouldn't bother me. I'd think Brown and Ntcham would be on a higher wage and I'd consider Mcginn 3rd choice (if he joined). He's becoming an international and is attracting interest in England, so, I guess, that's the wage he can command.

I think that’s it basically. It isn’t really about valuation at this stage, it’s more or less principal. If there’s a player in Scotland that the managers expressed a desire to have, who has a strong connection with the club, and who is well within our price range, we should be getting him without it taking this long or being nearly as dramatic. Particularly given the success (and money) he’s brought to the club over the past two years.

Exactly, we’ll only get away with this so many times before Brendan walks. People saying it’s hyperbole etc .. it’s the reason Lenny walked out, the board not backing him properly.

 

Don’t have an issue with that tbh. McGinn would have told him he’s no staying, so Lenny just trying to maximise the transfer before he loses him for nothing.
McGinn is the problem here, he * knows we want him and is going to Villa, like a mercenary *. Money over medals and your boyhood team
