Well he clearly wants away so it would be silly to scout him just now

 

good goal but overall passing was erratic , he stops attacks happening from other teams dead in it's tracks though he puts himself about.. Brendan could improve him.

 

We’ve all seen enough of him to know he’s a good player, I’m just saying he was poor tonight.

TBH, I don't really see what all the fuss is about McGinn but I'm not doubting BR. However, this absolutely does make a difference. I think it'll be a real struggle to make the ECL group stages and we are likely to end up in the Europa where McGinn now offers nothing this season. I think we'll win the league with little difficulty so I see no point in paying circa 3 million for him now. If Hibs accepted 2 million and BR wants him - fair enough. but if they want to be greedy - we'll pick him up for a pittance in Jan or at least he'll sign a pre-contract. I don't think any English club is that interested but, if someone is willing to pay more than 2 million, let him go. I can't believe that, with a global scouting network, we can't find a better option if we are willing to spend 3 million.

 

McGinn could play for us in the EL group stages as anyone can play in qualifiers and not cup tied in groups.

 

Fair enough, I didn't know that but TBH it still doesn't change my view. I can't see what he brings that would make us any better in Europe - I'd much rather spend the money on a RB and/or CH. If we end up getting him for 500k in Jan or he signs a pre-contract - that's great. I've watched a fair amount of Hibs games and I'm really not overly excited by McGinn - however, if BR thinks he can do something with him and we end up buying him, then I'll get behind him as with all other players.

 

Him not being able to play in our CL qualifiers will make no difference to Hibs or us.. the deal may be done later in the window now, but I'd be surprised if we wait til Jan.

 

Unless McGinn is being lined up as the ultimate replacement for Broony when he finally stops playing, I just cant see where in our current set up do we need him. Would he also be happy to play second fiddle until that time? I doubt it, so please BR move on to more realistic targets that are going to help us improve the team NOW/TODAY

 

Been a fan of his but was honking against part timers last night. Gave the ball away so cheaply and when he tried to get it back just ran about kicking people. Its probably the latter we are buying him for right enough.

The fact Armstrong is gone suggests that the negotiations are currently baws deep. Think he'll be signed in a couple of weeks.

 

Can't see this happening this window after he played last night. Was almost a two fingers up to us to play him against part timers so we can't play him in our own qualifiers if we brought him in.

I think we'll wait the 6 months and get him on a pre contract which is the most sensible thing for us. He'll continue playing regularly in that time. Maybe not good for Hibs but * Hibs.

 

Player will absolutely demand a move this summer. If we end our interest he will head to the Championship. At his age , he is overdue a move and a big contract. Short career and all that. He's not going to risk picking up a ligament injury or something serious between now and Jan and be left high and dry.

 

Think you have that backwards - HIBS will ensure he goes this summer - and English deadline is looming.
There is no way Hibs keeps him and allows to sign pre-contract in Jan, with token fee to release him then rather than at end of season for nothing.

Just because Hibs want to sell doesn't mean they will. McGinn, if as far as we're led to believe is as keen on the move himself, will be happy to wait. Again, I stress that is if he is as desperate to come as is reported.

 

Dragged on too long. I think we’re happy to take on pre-contract and don’t think there’s a risk of losing him. Hardly a bidding war and paradise will be his preferred destination.

 

Aye Hibs have tried to start a bidding war but there isn’t one or at least any bid hasn’t came near to ours. We will just wait, if no other bids go in before the English window closes then go back in with a similar bid and take him.

 

Aye fk this, just tell him pick you up in January for free, and give you a few extra grand for the wait.
