    @LectersLuncheon
What about, we buy him for 5 million loan him back to Hibs for 4 years & we get to keep Kouassi, Allan, Christie & griffiths here instead of loaning them to Hibs as make weights.
    Everyone’s a winner & we’re all happy.

Always thought those were among Armstrong's strengths.

Don't see McGinn as an upgrade on Armstrong at all.

Armstrong was neat enough and could finish , but i think overall McGinn could go onto become a more complete midfielder as he's an allrounder.

I can’t see Brendan bringing him on and i’m not sure it would make much difference to Hibs anyway mate.

Aye they would still take him, but would make sense if neither played for their respective clubs..

Agreed. I think both sides acting the bollox a bit with each other. Do Hibs need a few hundred thousand for McLaren or is that dead?
I like him, I'd sign him. Probably for as much as 3, I think that's the real magic number. I also get the feeling Brendan doesn't want Christie or Allen so if they were to be moved on it would cover a bit of McGinn transfer fee and probably all his wages.

The sticking point is Hibs can’t match what either of those two is on at us though.

Very true. I actually wasn't implying that we use them as part-exchange. Just they be moved on to wherever.

Sorry that’s what I thought you meant, I can see Christie getting some game time domestically but I really hope Allan is moved on.

    In what sense?

If we sign him and he does as well as I hope, then he could be a here for years & years... so in that sense possibly..

In terms of ability, value and potential Edouard is as big a deal as Dembele and VVD, in pure monetary terms Edouard is the biggest deal in the clubs history..

If Hibs play him tonight, they're only * themselves as that'll make up our minds to wait even further..

I agree, if Hibs do play him tonight it's purely a wee dig at us I'd say, they have a 5 goal lead and will most likely extend that tonight with or without McGinn in the team. Noises out of Easter road is that McGinn wants a move but only to us so * HIbs, let them play him and if they do we wait until Xmas window and pick him up for free.

Tell them that they can forget Allan on a permanent deal and Christie on a loan deal. Let them find a club that is willing to meet their £4m valuation, and that McGinn is willing to join, and then let them try to find two players who are better than Allan and Christie, and who are willing to join Hibernian, for £2m.

I honestly don’t think it matters one way or another.. it would be pure mind games to play him from Hibs..

It will probably mean it will go right to the near the end of the window, but won’t put us off..
