I think rotation is going to be a requirement this season to keep both him and brown fresh and injury free. So not without reason. My concern would be if Brown/ntcham sustained an injury i.e hamstring pull etc. Thats where we will need mcginn.
Moreso Brown because of the drive and dig he provides to the team. A bad injury at his age now could take longer and be tougher to recover from.

Thats not taking into account the money we have brought in. We have received around £7m for Armstrong (upfront or in intallments i dont know). I dont think the fee will reach as high as £4m, given that Allan could potentially be used as a make weight in any deal.
We have also received money from FIFA and will have benefitted from last years CL campaign. I dont believe BR would have blown the majority of a budget on a striker if he thought that was going to prevent him strengthening in other areas.

With Armstrong now departed, unless we replace him, our squad is weakened. A few have mentioned Kouassi but i think that Mcginn has more to his game.

I agree with the latter. It could be argued we are now strongest in attack but I my priority would have been to strengthen at the back and find a quality partner for Ajer who i think is going to have a stand out season. Also a right back.

Much rather he gets used to the SPFL mate and Lenny’s a resource we can use. He knows exactly what is needed from a Celtic misfielder and Kouassi would definitely play almost every game there.

It’s a win/win for me. It wouldn’t be the same sort of mistake we made with Henderson for me, as they’re actually in our league.

I would really like McGinn here for the right price.

If Hibs are trying to get £4mill then we should just go elsewhere as for someone with so little time left there that is far to much to spend on him, he will not be huge miss to our squad should we lose out on him.

Both he and mcgeouch complemented one another in their energy. In all of the games v us, his influence on the game seemed to grow as the game wore on.
Ntcham went off injured in two of the games, i really dont think that he enjoyed the physical battle. But in fairnness i thought that Ntcham was good in the draw in december until he had to be replaced.

Mcgeouch was voted POTY for his performances across the season. He also played particularly well vs us last season. We are the biggest team in the league.

Whilst the argument of Van Dijk vs Johansen was given, if Johansen was able to sustain his form shown in his stand out season, he too would have went to a EPL club. Top players are able to do it more consistently. As a defender, Van Dijk had it all.

Sending Kouassi to Hibs as part of the McGinn deal would be absolutely insane.

In any case, Kouassi needs game time this season. And if its not with us then we should look at trying to get him game time elsewhere. Somewhere where he is likely to start.

I really don't want him to go out on loan but if he isn't going to get any game time this season. It would be best for him to go out on loan & Lennon is a good fit.

I would rather give him game time but it doesn't look like he is getting that any time soon, would rather he went out on loan & Hibs is a good fit.

Peter lawwell, as a good businessman and someone in the right mind, is not going to loan a guy who has played at Krasnodar and who we paid good money to Hibs to develop as part of a deal for McGinn. It would be a great deal for them and an absolutely preposterous one for us.

I get what you are saying mate. The problem for me is, he is meant to be a replacement for Brown & now we are trying to sign McGinn, who is also a replacement for Brown. I think Kouassi has shown signs that he could be a better player than McGinn so why would Rodgers be going for McGinn if he intends to play Kouassi next season.

As I said in another thread, Eboué is a better player and has a higher ceiling than McGinn from what I have seen.

I would be unhappy if Eboué were to go on loan to Hibernian as part of the McGinn deal, particularly if that deal involves a transfer fee and Allan.

McGinn being a replacement for Brown is the biggest myth going. Why does anyone think this? Because he plays for Hibs and is aggressive? He's a box to box midfielder, Brown plays just in front of the defense. Mcginn is Ntcham backup

Hibs will be looking for as much as they can because they need to give St Mirren a percentage... i mean we could sign a foreigner and he fails to settle ..we should never lose interest in the best Scottish talent who have served us well .

I saw him on several other occasons on TV also, if you want to be pedantic but in the games I watched live I was taking in his positional sense, reading of the game and his control and passing. All of it was excellent imo.

I don't really give a * about what Hibs fans think. I've seen more than enough of McGeouch to know that there is a vast difference in quality between him and McGinn

He should've been used it it with us by now..

The excuses about Broony have been garbage in my opinion..

If it had to be Hibs. Wouldn't do it for more than 6 month's..

He’s not played sustained football here at all, week in, week out is what we need him to be doing for me.

He definitely needs first team football. I think we all agree on that..
