Its not at all, his overall game isn't great sitting in the position he is in but his passing is * superb at times, just a shame there's always a donkey like Stokes or Commons getting on the end of them. Seriously though he can split open defenses and some of the passes he made to switch the play were class.

that sounds more like he'd be a decent attacking midfielder to be fair

hes got to be better at it than commons who is worse than invisible because he's the cause of the break down of loads of our moves

LOL, oh yeah let's replace our top scorer by Mr Composure himself 'The Fainting Viking' who hits the deck as soon as he get's in the opposition box.

In the name of Valhalla. FFS the Vikings raped and pillaged our Isles many years ago, seems they're doing it again at Celtic with our Viking Trio.

    In the name of Odin.

I think he would be better in an attacking role, I don't think he's strong enough or got the positional awareness to play where Deila is playing him.

I cannot fathom how people on here are claiming that he is our best passer.
In every match I've seen him in this season he's constantly given away possession. He's half the player Kayal is and the sooner he gets dropped, along with McGreggor and Ambrose, the better.

Mulgrew is in my oppinion. Johansen cant go from being good enough last season to being not good enough this year. Out of form.

McGregors not played the last two games, Johansen hasn't had a great season but he still picks out a good few passes a game that I don't think anyone else in our team could. I'm not his biggest fan but I don't see how Kayal is any better than him, Kayal's passing and shooting is * woeful.

I don't think either can pass or finish very well, but for me Kayal has a yard more pace, better positional awareness, doesn't hang onto the ball for too long and wins more 50/50s. I just don't rate Johansen at all - we'd be better playing with ten men than with a headless chicken who either * up a pass or gets muscled off the ball every time he gets it.

For those who are in love.....
I keep hearing how he's not suited to a two man midfield pairing but i always find that a poor excuse for a centre mid, seriously..
He's not slow and usually that's the killer for one in a two pairing so that doesn't wash..

I'm willing to if ronny does, give him a game or two in the commons role to see if long term he's the answer their..
I have major doubts but I'm ready for a slice of humble pie, been waiting a long time..

Played one of the best passes ANY of our players have managed this season to Scott Brown with the outside of his left foot, was glorious.

Numerous lobbed passes aswell yesterday that sent our forwards through, who failed to bring the ball down with their own touch letting them down.

Passing is certainly not a weakness of Johansen's.

If the pass to Scott Brown had been converted a lot of you would be on here talking about how great Johansen's pass was.

:50: If just one or two of those passes had been taken down properly and led to a goal people would have been creaming themselves.

Our centre back's were doing the exact same thing?

And remember his superb through ball in the CL..................... to the Maribor player. He's a panic merchant on the ball.

Of course he occasionally makes a successful pass. That's his job. What about the shitload of simple ones that he * up in the middle of the park?

There's games this season people were criticising him and I though he played well.

He was brilliant last season, and he is easily our best passer.

I still think Kayal should be in there just now starting. Any time he has come in he has done a decent job only for him to get left out again the following week.

Off-form, for me. I think the guy has class. Needs to watch himself; opposition players close him down v quickly because they know he can distribute the ball well. He needs to adapt to that and learn how to keep the ball better in this hatchet-man laden league.

Look at this guy's distribution. It's terrible. And yet all the Johansen fanboys reckon it's because our forwards aren't on the same genius wavelength as this midlfield maestro. It's laughable.
When's he going to have a good game and make one of his "incredible" passes count for something? When's he going to go on a mazy run and actually put the ball in the net, or create an assist at the end of it, or score a 25-30 yarder? I'm seeing * all from this guy, apart from one decent pass in about 20 attempts (and I'm not counting those six-yard ones that he loves to make across the way and backwards).
His pass rate flatters to deceive because he makes so many that are utterly pointless.

I think the people who think he is good are the same people who thought Evander Sno had potential. He's *, just because he occassionaly makes a tackle or a good pass does not make up for the fact that he is not good enough to play for celtic.

Kayal is better but not great, Ki, Wanyama, Ledley - those are the kind of players we should expect, not mediocre/poor ones like Johansen.
