Our biggest problem in the team is our defence and he is the defencive coach, as much as i loved him as a player,do you's think he is the right man to continue coachin the defense after that shambolick display on sun.

 

He is a coach not a defensive coach.

He was a midfielder for most of his career.

 

Lennon should let Johan pick the team for the next game against them. No one would know :icon_mrgreen:

Lenny has been bashed here since Sundays game and theres been a lot of arguments about him picking the wrong team,but everyone agrees that our central defence is pure * and has been for about 5 years.
Iwould like to know what the * Mjallby is getting paid for.He was a decent centre half for us,and played with Bobo,Joos etc.None of them were great on the ground but by * they could win headers in defence,the essential quality required for a central defender.
Surely,as Lennys assistant he should be sorting this * disaster out,but as yet he has produced * all,except standing in for Lenny on tv interviews.
Yes ultimately the buck stops at the manager but an assistant should assist
and for me,hes not doing his job as regards to those defensive positions.
We have tried Maj,Rogne,Hooiveld,Glenda,K.Wilson and Mulgrew as centre backs and theyre all *,with the exception of Mulgrew IMO
Whats your views ?

 

rogne,s the best cb we have budd ..but has more injurys than barry sheen,,,,mulgrew,s the next behind him which is why its so puzzling he plays him at left back...wing,,,,,when commons or mcourt would be more naturaul there....

 

I mentioned this is another thread:

If your team's assistant manager is a very well revered ex Swedish international CB who played in some very good teams, and in the Spanish top flight, can't get your defenders playing cohesively then * knows what we'll do.

We had a great record last season in defence; the best in the league, yet we're spoon-fed this pish this season.

The only real finger I feel that can be pointed at him is if he's the one responsible for this zonal marking pish??? Ultimately tis the gafers call though I would say.

 

The backroom staff would be given the chance to add their own slant on things though. That's why they're there.

Sure you're right,but ultimately Johan can only play the hand he's dealt, you can coach, advise and talk until you're blue (spit) in the face, but if who you're talking to are deaf dumb and blind kids, then the best coach in world aint gonna make much difference.

Tis a combination if you ask me, to me, barring Izzy I wouldn' thave anyone of them except maybe, and I say maybe Mulgrew, and only at cb., still reckon he's got a lot to learn, but ultimately Lennon as he's the one who brought Wilson, Maj, cha,Badr to Parkhead and hasn't shipped out the garbage that was already there, and not signed adequate replacements.

Aye you can have a pop at the coaches and say they have input too, but buck stop with Lennon, if big Dolph isn't performing then that's up to Lennon to sort out as well, was him that appointed him, only he knows how much say he has re. signings, team selection, zonal marking etc. etc.
