I actually think Joe Ledley is the key player in our squad, the amount of covering he does for Commons and Izzy is unreal.

Probably the only reason that we don't get caught out as much as we probably should on that side because it is insanely attacking.

Must admit he is one of the players who does an unsung job.. I very rarely mention him in posts because I overlook his performances , and I think one errant pass that led to goodwillie scoring at Celtic Park is about all I can think off that he's been at fault for..
Saw it mentioned he might have been guilty at the huns first goal but I haven't re-watched either hun goal saw can't say but I really think he's growing into his role and becoming more noticeable and influential as the season goes on..

He has certainly improved, although I still think Ki is the better player.

i dont think there was much he could do about the huns first goal atleast he backtracked trying to get it back and equalized to make up for it

Hes upped his game massively over the last few months as far as winning tackles and getting forward more is concerned, hes made himself an integral part of the team.
Although i do think some of the criticism he had earlier in the season was justified.

Think this shows how bad we were on Sunday in the midfield as Forster should never be one of our top players against them. In the previous matches combined he hardly had a save to make but he had a fair few on Sunday. - Not Good. Ledley is a solid enough player and I think he will be a dependable guy going forward.

Finally, I think we are starting to see the Joe Ledley that we all seen clips of at Cardiff scoring goals before he came to Celtic. I'm delighted for him, he seems to love playing for the club. One complaint though is that he can still be a bit careless in midfield with a few wandering passes other than that top marks for the guy in the last two games.

My favourite Lennon signing. Can't really add much to the OP, agree with every word.

One of the things that I like (and there are many!) about Ledley is his passion. You can see how frustrated he gets when misses a goal scoring opportunity etc.

He is also pretty versatile - he could capably play the same role Brown plays on the left - which IMO would actually balance the team superbly because having Izzy and Commons on the same flank sometimes leaves us a little unbalanced and even predictable because we're not quite as nimble or dangerous down our right flank.

Having Wilson (who is a little more defensively minded) playing behind Commons on the right and Izzy playing behind Ledley with Ki and Kayal in the middle could be something to keep in mind, especially if Brown is out for a while.

^ Giggs on Ledley, quite interesting how highly he thinks of him,

"I think when players make things look easy they get taken for granted."

That quote sums up how most were feeling at the start of the season but now I think we are appreciating his ability and realising what he is doing well! and imo I think he is a real good player, definitly becoming one of my favourites!

He's scored our last 3 goals which makes it harder to overlook his contribution..

Someone mentioned Brown possibly being out.. Haven't heard anything but he looked fit enough to be walking around a golf course yesterday (with his Scotland team mates) so I'd say he'll probably be back for our next game , if he isn't already playing in Scotlands friendly game this week..

Been excellent since he came here and keeps on getting better and better perfect box to box player for us great start here and its not even a full season yet and Joe looks like he has been here for years .
Keeps the game nice and simple at the same time can mix it up when needed and as we saw with his stunning assist at Scumbrox the boy has vision starting to chip in with the goals and that is good to see .

Great coup by the club and delighted we got Joe here lets hope he can stay here for a long time and we can see the best out of Joe Ledley he has all the tools in his locker to be as big a player and as important a player as Stan was for us .

I said it - I just thought he might be injured as he had an icepack strapped on when he came off on Sunday. Probably just a precaution right enough.

I think we are now starting to see the player we signed from Cardiff. Does the simple things very well and now adding goals to the mix. He's a very important player for us in the system we currently deploy with Izzy and Wilson bombing on.
If we see further advances in Joe's play what a player we will have on our hands.

Having re-watched the cup game, I can safely say Joe was our best player.

He's one of the first names on the team-sheet. He's definitely a key player now, there's no doubt about that. He's not just a brilliant footballer with many qualities, he's a proper athlete.

I think he's been a great buy, you have to remember that he's still young and a he's already an important Welsh international. He has proved to be a fantastic piece of business.

I was critical of Joe when he first broke into the first-team and I still think some of that criticism was justified at the time but I did tend to overlook him in some games as well. I know it's early days but I think Joe could be a future captain and Celtic legend or move on for a big profit.

Time will tell but all the signs are positive.

Biggest compliment I could give him personally is I feel far safer and happier when he starts in the middle beside Kayal.

I see no glaring weakness in that midfield pairing, both of whom will have prying eyes on them come the summer.
