Joe Ledley

Ledley is a smashing player. Football isn't all about fancy tricks.

 

Some people must be on a wind up. To claim Ledley was pish, or his assist was luck, or it was chance he was in the box on both goals...

He's been quality. Big ups to the man.

 

As a player who does this for his own team every week, it's amazing how spectators can never see you, yet your whole team praises your performance. Football takes 11 guys, and not all of them can be the striker.

 

I thought he was the best player in the 2nd half

Cant understand how people could possibly comprehend he was pish

 

Think Ledley is a great wee player !!!!!!!!
Hopefully in the weeks & months to come we'll see his full potential .

Feel a lot of people are really hard on him.
He looked great today, and I feel like we would lose an element if he was out.

He was fantastic yesterday

 

If people watch him theyd notice he does alot off the ball, as soon as we lost the ball he was sprinting back every time, on the ball he was solid as well

 

Very true. Kept a close eye on him yesterday off the ball and everytime one of our attacks broke down he was the one sprinting back to win the ball back. He looks a real threat played in a more attacking role too.

I think people were expecting too much from Ledley when he arrived. The past few weeks i think he has been one of our better players though and seems to be settling down. I think he is being told to play differently from his time at Cardiff. He made bursting runs with Cardiff where i think he sits a lot more for us

 

I personally thought he did better yesterday because he played most of the game out on the left hand side, which allowed him to contribute to the passing without having the responsibility of making things happen. I feel Ki does offer more but Ledley is a good addition to the squad and when he was at Cardiff I never dreamed we would get him.

I think ledly is qualty and was quality today, we never give lennn the gratatude at the start of his carear. he can pick a good pass and his work rate toda was quality. would like to se stats for assists this year for the celtic team. he just gets on with his business, i believe you cannot have too many kayals and bowns (in the sense of flying in with tackle in the midfield) i think he just cleans everything up and starts alot of ur moves by spraying bal out wide or through the middle. its a credit t the whole team that people are actually saying ledly is over rated as this player a season ago would be well beyond the quality of our team!

Have been watching him over the past few games...have to say he is pure quality...we are going to miss him come the return leg for the scottish cup!!

watched the game a 2nd time with the express purpose of looking at Ledley and our other MFs. Again, I dont see why Ledley is being bigged up today. He did his usual neat and tidy game with not much impact. The 2nd time of watching what really struck me was just how exceptional the shift Kayal and Brown put in. They were everywhere. IMO their return has completely transformed the energy levels of the team and noone can compete. Ledely to me is OK but I dont think it would make much difference if Ki replaced him.

 

Superb shift put in by Ledley today, you really seen the difference when Ki replaced him in the middle and he was shunted from the left.

We started to get stuck back into our own half until Joe went a bit more narrow again and Kayal pressured higher up the field.

Great to see him starting to get the pluadits he deserves.

 

what did he do that was pure quality though. 90% of what he did was the odd sidewords safety first pass and he certainly doesnt do as much as Kayal or Brown in terms of harrasing the opposition. He to me is our least important MF.

 

needs to get forward more like he did at cardiff- why we signed him. Could do with more goals and assists
