If Brown has that clause in his contract, I will eat your hat.

Funny our two highest paid players are the ones that miss the highest number of games through injury/suspenion....

He might be,The point i was making is if he leaves the board will no doubt get the blame for not throwing more money at him.

We had this situation last year with Scott Brown. Folk were saying the exact same things and he ended up signing the contract. Joe Ledley isn't a better player than Scott Brown. The best he can hope for in England is a bottom half side like Norwich or Cardiff. He is better off signing a new contract at Celtic. He is on great wages here and playing European football is surely more attractive than a relegation dogfight at an unfashionable club in England?

Folk who blame the board for that are seriously misinformed or just plain stupid.

I wouldn't blame them for not throwing more money at him. However, this is something that could and should have been dealt with long ago. And for that, you can look no further than the board in my opinion.

You don't know what is happening though. None of us do. Ledley might not be happy with the terms being offered. Who knows? Lets just hope he signs because if he doesn't we will have to shell out 2-4 million for a replacement.

Anybody that would be happy to see the back of Joe Ledley knows absolutely nothing about football.

Probably the most intelligent player we have at the club.

It's been well documented that we hadn't offered him a contract until very recently. So yes, it's very obvious that they haven't dealt with this quick enough. And the buck stops on the doorstep of Peter Lawwell when it comes to players contracts.

I really like Joe Ledley. Good player and seems like a really good lad, but him, Broony, Kayal, Biton, and Mulgrew when he plays CM are all quite similar players, with very little creativity. Need to have someone like that on the park but no more than one, and that will always be Brown. Ledley isn't much better than the rest in that position so definitely wouldn't be a massive loss and shouldn't be paid a ridiculous amount. Replacing him with a very good creative player wouldn't be a bad move at all.

I doubt anyone would be happy to see the back of Joe Ledley. He is a very industrious who always does his job well. He makes some fantastic runs and is great in the air. If this is his last season then he would have been here for four seasons. That is a long time in a footballers career. He has gave a lot to Celtic and Celtic have gave a lot to him. Hopefully he sees this and chooses to stay here. Hes got a good thing going at Celtic.

There is a few believe me.

Agreed about all the rest. I'll also add that he is a big game player and almost always produces the goods when it matters most.

People just have short memories I think, a season interrupted by injury and all of a sudden he is expendable, be careful what you wish for...

I've said this for a while and it was a phrase I used often to describe Neil Lennon and Paul Lambert when folk got on there back, if you donmt understand his play, you don't understand football.

And that's quite funny as well because he's our highest scoring central midfielder since Stillian Petrov. Who left 7 years ago.

I think Ledley is hugely underrated by some of the Celtic support.

I hope to * he stays, brilliant player and I think he wants to stay as well.

Workman type player who gives his all, like the majority of our midfielder's. Kayal and Brown.

Although he does chip in with significantly more goals than the other 2.

Got a feeling he's going to be with us for a good few years yet,he's a loyal player who turned down decent clubs to join us.Also only ever played for Cardiff.Seems happy here too.

I'm totally torn, if £30k is a genuine figure that's a scary amount for us to be paying. I'd be absolutely gutted if Joe left but do I want to see him taking that much money out of us? I don't know.

Can you imagine the increase in sponsorship etc. playing for a * EPL club compared to us though? It won't just be a wage increase he'll get by going to England there'll be loads of other benefits too. It's just dependent on whether he's a money man or a football man or how much of a * his agent is.
