    Me too :54:

I think he will sign soon - but if he doesn't, I'll be telling myself that we haven't necessarily lost out (considering we got him for free) - and we've had a fantastic player over the last 3 years helping to contribute to league titles, silverware and back-to-back CL group qualifications.

To be fair, he come out and said ages ago that he would have signed a new contract. We should have dealt with it then. Instead of letting it get down to the last couple of months before he can sign a PCA with another team.

Lennon said recently he is confident of him signing the improved offer. Things take time. Not sweating on it just yet.

Yes i know he may still sign, but if he leaves its safe to say he wants more money than the clubs pay structure will pay him and that is believed to table out around 20k area.

The club has been a little bit shoddy with contracts getting this low.
Like you said should have been dealt with months ago,its not like they can only do one thing at a time.

Isn't he already in the top bracket on the pay structure with Brown? Around £25k?

To be fair to be offered improved contract with him bring on 25k is impressive although the board will see it as a potential transfer fee in the future if they can tie him upon a 3 year deal.I wouldn't be surprised if they offered him 30k,the guy has to be rated at around 4/5 mil so would definately be worth it in the long run for sure.

I'm sure he is. I also heard (please correct me if I'm wrong) that it's written into Browns contract that he must always be the highest paid player at the club, and that was one of the big reasons why Hooper wouldn't sign a contract extension also (apart from the obvious).

So if we wanted to pay Joe 30k p/w we'd also have to bump Broony up to that too.

Might be a load of * though.

    I highly doubt that.

Good enough player but he is pretty limited at the same time (very very 1 footed, not the fastest by any means, never commands/takes charge of the midfield)

Most certainly shouldn't be a highest earner, then again Brown shouldn't be either but has been for some time now.

Brown was here at the same time as Robbie Keane.

Yeah I obviously wasn't talking about his first contract with Celtic, he signed an extension in December 2011, if it's true then it was probably included in that.

If that's true and Brown has that in his contract, then we are never likely to see the like's of a Keane again, as Brown would need to have his wages matched until the loan deal was finished, IF the board have agreed to this I would be surprised though and disappointed in the board and brown being honest.

Anyway back to Joe Like him as a player , he seems to have grown to like us and the club and its not that long ago he was saying he wants to sign a new/extension to his contract so hopefully we will get that as a Christmas present but not on 30k a week.
