But in all seriousness, I said tonight that I think he’s been our most important signing and in a year where we got CCV, Jota, Kyogo, etc, that speaks volumes. His performances have been great, but his leadership and presence are invaluable.

 

It’s between CCV and Hart for me, and I couldn’t argue definitely for any of them. And there’s 3/4/5 other players that can get earmarked as that as well, which shows just how well Ange has done.

Definitely. I love CCV and I’d actually argue he’s possibly underrated, but for me Hart edges it in terms of importance because of his presence and leadership, right down to daft wee moments of geeing up his defenders for clearances. I’d also question whether (with all due respect) CCV would be so good and so composed with Barkas behind him who knows. Love them both.

There’s no doubt with Barkas behind the CB’s rather than Hart it wouldn’t be as good, the three of them absolutely trust each other and that’s something that elevates CCV, Hart and Strafelt. They all trust each other and that’s why it works as well as it does. Hart goes over and above though, my mate said to me as far back as the 6-0 against Dundee that 5 up he seen Hart screaming at his defence to get into the right positions and no get cocky.

That’s irreplaceable. Even when we had Forster, he didn’t command his defence like that, they just trusted he could bail them out. Hart leads from the back, and for me he’s the replacement for Scott Brown. McGregor has been the leader in his way, and has been unreal but Hart’s been the big personality and a big reason for why our defence has been as good as it has even when he’s not needed to make a save.

No problem at all with Grealish, he didn't play for our senior international side, this fella did 3 times then * off, no time for him.

Agree, 100%. McGregor’s voice is louder this season and it’s noticeable how much he’s taken to the armband and I totally commend him for that, but for where McGregor does his talking with his feet and performances, Hart has been a megaphone from the back. A constant presence, voice and motivation.

To be fair, so many our squad are leaders in different ways this year. It’s refreshing in a team who couldn’t possibly have replaced Brown’s leadership like for like.

Every knew signing has mentioned Hart being the guy that makes sure they’re all going straight in to be part of a team with everybody else, Juranovic majorly raved about it at the start. McGregor sets the standard and what we should be as a team and as winners, Hart sets the squad together as pals in the background. And thats his leadership and experience
