Are you joking? That’s his best asset. Admittedly they don’t always come off, but if you have a player like Ramsey making the runs forward he can split the tightest of defences. He’s wasted at Stoke. I’d love him at Celtic Park & he would be a massive asset. But of course, it’s only an opinion.

 

He'd likely sell for at least 10-15m down there.

 

Not for me iv never really rated him and at the over inflated prices and wages he would demand would be way out our budget

The fact that dembele and sinclair have both been our best players consecutively and ntcham looks at least 2 levels above everyone else shows you are wrong.

 

Didn't Stoke quote West Ham £18 million for him? no chance he's coming here we need a goalscoring midfielder anyway which Allen isn't

Gamboa was signed as a backup player and has been decent enough when called in.

Hayes, again signed as cover and proven at this level.

Benyu is in for the future, unfair to judge him at this stage.

 

As I said I hope I'm wrong and he pulls some good players, I'm just not convinced so far

Worrying is the last thing you should be doing if Joe Allen walks through the doors at Parkhead.

 

I don't rate Allen at all and at the price we would be paying we could get one or two from elsewhere

Allen is class and always has been. He was treated unfairly by the media and Liverpool fans because Rodgers was such a big fan of him. He's far superior to Henderson who is still Liverpool captain and would stroll it up here. However we will not and should not pay the 15 million or so that stoke are asking for him.

 

Can't believe some on here are turning their nose up at Allen. If we manage to bring in Allen for little or no extra cost as a replacement for Armstrong then we've done tremendously.

Regarding the point about not trusting Rodgers with money, a little bit ludicrous. We're on course for potential back-to-back trebles therefore he deserves to be backed. Not all of his signings have been successes but what manager have we had that hasn't had failures in the transfer market?

Any signings going forward have to be ready to immediately challenge for a place in the squad though, we have more than enough squad/project players, we need a few signings of real quality to kick on again.

 

The only way we will ever see him here is on a bosman down the line. Only then we could offer him a signing on fee big enough to make up for the drop in wages.
