I’ve seen him play a few times against Liverpool.

Very quick but at times can be like Bambi on ice and make some questionable decisions.

Don’t know how I feel about this one, he is quicker than Taylor but defensively is lacking too.

Despite obvious misgivings about relying on Rodgers for targets, I'd take him..

We've done very well from experienced EPL players of late (Mooy, Schmeichel, Hart).

Sounds like a player that can fit it in anywhere if asked.. not against it.. least it's a rumour

Hopefully he doesn't want to come up here.

Would make sense if Rodgers is committing to having an inverted LB in his system going forward.

If he's being signed as a versatile squad player, then yes.

First choice left back? Not a chance.

    Duffy was under Lennon.

McCarthy had barely played for 4 seasons..

Philips, aye no excuse can be made there. :giggle1:

Wasn't an experienced PL player is the excuse for Phillips. Only played about 20 games in that league at 27

As a versatile squad option absolutely.

I recall him being pretty average but he's fast and physical so that's two boxes at least.

Schlupp has never impressed me whenever I've seen him play in the EPL but it doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't do a job for us. The standard in the SPL is nothing like down south and he seems to have the physical attributes to cope with the 'robust' nature of our opponents in Scotland. This along with the knock-back from Bueno at Wolves does seem to confirm that our targets for this window are mostly EPL cast-offs.

He's on 60 grand my brother said so would we be going for a loan and then trying to sign him for free at the end of it?

    Is that what's being reported?

I'm sort of warming to the idea of bringing him in. Vast experience in the EPL and not a project signing.

I would imagine if we were signing him it would be us paying a modest fee that would largely go to the player to offset him being on lower wages but maybe a 2 year with another year as an option deal.

Unless Palace just want the bulk of the wages off their books, then it might be a loan.

Think he'd be used as a left mid who can cover the full back

Don't really care what the ins/outs are.

    He'd be great up here.

Meanwhile, Celtic have enquired over Crystal Palace's 31-year-old utility man Jeffrey Schlupp after left-back target Hugo Bueno of Wolves agreed a season-long loan deal at Feyenoord

Mental that we’re only making ‘enquiries’ at this stage of the window.

Id take him though. Versatile and experienced. Rapid too.
