Would he be an upgrade on Taylor? He's not played LB for a while and generally been used as a midfielder recently. Probably an upgrade on Bernabei but that's not setting the bar high.

Maybe Rodgers was looking for a left winger in Balikwisha though so could be primarily for LW

Tbf Taylor can’t really play LB either he kinda just goes in central and plays in there. Anytime he’s in the left back position he’s muck

    I'd take him tbh.

At first I was like ffs, but actually it'd probably be a smart signing. Experienced at a high level. There is a reason he's played so much in the Prem, he's a solid, atheletic player

Schlupp has played 29, 34, 32 and 27 league games for Palace over the past four seasons. He’s been a regular starter for a very solid EPL club, still only 31, and judging by those stats rarely ever injured.

Fair bit of experience on the EPL...

100% yes for me if it’s for left back. He is far superior to Taylor

Just the wrong side of 30 but definitely fits the pace and power the manager wanted..

Always been rapid and powerful also. Versatile..

Definite take. Experienced as * at a top level for most of his career..

He's a jack of all trades player, but if he's joining us it'd 100% be as a LB, as he won't be first choice in midfield and I'd be shocked if he came to us as a backup.

I think he'd be a left back too, seems to play left or centre mid for Palace but I've always seen him as a wing back type. Not sure he's technically sound enough in his passing to be a midfielder for us

a guy with over 200 PL games doesn’t improve our team that’s some take does improve us on the left at LB for a start

Doesn't reflect well on our scouting, but I'd take him for sure.

For the money he would be on, I don't see how he would improve us for Europe. The league isn't really an issue. I'm not dead against it, just reeks of a last minute panic buy/loan. No forward planning.

We're kinda speculating where he'd be used to be fair..

I think it'd be primarily left back but he could be being brought in as a versatile option in midfield and a left back being brought in also :giggle1:

I think he's a big upgrade on Taylor for Europe though. We could sign a few players who were better than what we have and it might still no make a difference at the top table..

No forward planning, I agree, probably down the list of our targets (if we're interested), but in terms of Europe. He's played at a high level for years he has experience playing against top players for teams that are often on the backfoot. If it was to be left back, he adds energy and pace, albeit I don't think he's as clever in his use if the ball as Taylor is.

I think, due to wages, we'd be looking at a LTB deal, would be surprised if it's a straight transfer.

He's definitely not our first choice, not even our second, as I think we've missed out on our first choice LB + Bueno, but for being down on the list, we could do far worse imo.

There’s absolutely no guarantee he’d be brought into play at LB. He’s naturally a midfielder which I don’t think he’d improve us in.
