    I'm not picky.
    I can actually see it from both points of view. On one hand, he's being positive and trying to instill passion in the team to do well in the competition. On the other, it's pretty silly to say something like that when we're nowhere near capable of realistically winning it, especially after us playing so poorly in the 1st 20 minutes or so of yesterday's match and the number of quality sides who are in the competition.

    Don't know the ins and outs but I am calling it as I see it in the thread title.

    At the end of the day, if we are just talking about it plainly without reference to Denayer, I'd still rather we just get on with the job at hand. Some fans like comments like this and a bit of false hope but I prefer we get on with trying to improve on results like last night. If we come out fighting in the last 32 then I will start dreaming of the final.

    We have been distinctly average in every single group game so far.

    I don't know why everyone is getting so bent out of shape over this,we are all * old enough to know the media do interviews and then pick the bit they want to make headlines.
    Not lies but misleading to make someone look a * half the time.
    Did he say it,maybe or something close to it,was he asked if we could win it....im 99% sure that was the case.

    Some questions you lose no matter how you answer.

    I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about this either. It was a no win question put to Denayer. If he says we have no chance, fans will moan, if he says we do have a chance of going far, fans still moan.
