That midfield actually looks good i.e mcfadden replacing Fortune on the wing! However, you will now get the "where's McCourt??!" posts!

McCourt won't be a 30 games a season player, I don't think, ever for us. So you have to look for a first teamer, he's a good player to have on the bench or covering injuries.

McFadden doesn't excite me that much at all, he is a decent player but not what the teams needs right now. I would prefer we brought in a proven goal scorer an old fashioned penalty box striker. In the mould of the boy Phillips at Birmingham.....I'm not saying buy Phillips (he's knocking on a bit age wise and injured anyway) but using him as an example......That's the type I think we need right now.

True, but he did say he will 'get all the money'. Which to be honest I doubted at the time. Lennon does say to much sometimes I think and he has got us all overly hyped up, look at the reaction when Bellamy and James rejected us, not even mentioning Bullard.

I worry that players will reject us due to the SPL and lack of Champions League football and in some regards I respect that more for turning us down due to lack of money.

Remember our overall budget includes wages too. :50:

So unless we know what each player is on - which we don't - we don't know how much has been spent.

i thought the main subject of the 10mil was to cover what lennon had spent on players before mcgeady left and maybe break the bank a little for a last few signings, wasnt really expecting to sign all the players, sell mcgeady, then spend another 10mil on players.

mcfadden tho would prob be a decent signin but after chasin bellamy to come out with mcfadden, really a different league of player. hopin we can get a proven striker in tho

Stokes before Mcfadden for me. Stokes would bang them in for fun here with the service he would get from the midfield. Open your eyes Lenny, stokes is your man.

Really don't want to see McFadden here. We've Maloney, McCourt and possibly Forrest who can all do a similar job and are just as likely to score more than him while doing it.

Aye, he's got decent skill but he needs to be able to turn players inside out because he can't outrun them after beating them the first time.

The hype that you talk about is all media driven and they decide which way to play that hype, negative or positive. In our case it appears to be always negative as that looks to be our place in Scottish society and is ingrained within the Scottish psyche. How do they know how the support is feeling? We are already getting fed this * about how Walter has went for quality signings not quantity with the implication that we have not. But if we look at the facts, Wiess who is 22 plays for the international giants Slovakia with all of the top players called? This is including two sub appearences at the world cup. He could not get a game at Bolton last year for some Korean player, assured quality my *. Jelavic plays for Rapid Vienna at the top level of Austrian football again not a great standard and does not have a good goals to games ratio 70 goals in 200 games. He has recently been playing for Croatia who were at one time a top international team but have regressed somewhat. Anytime I have seen him he has always got chances but not always taken them and obviously has a goal scorers instincts but his general play is not so great. He has however imrpoved his chances taken ratio in the past season so is improving. So proven quality they are not but do have the potential to be so, agreed. But can someone tell me the difference from Suarez, Kayal, Samaras, Forrest. Thats right there is none!! Because the play the age old trick of telling everyone an opinion and if it is heard enough times some people start to take it on board and it spreads. The affects of mass media in the modern world. McGeady made this point last week in his interviews about his no end product tag and he was spot on, (smarter than he made out me thinks). The statistics do not lie and so it is up to you to make up your own mind about things with evidence presented not what some fat arsed reporter wants you to think because he hates your team colours!!

if we sell Fprtune there may be logic in spending a couple of million of Faddy. McCourt will never be more than a bit part player due to not having the stamina to put in a real shift despite his talent and IMO will be a supersub. Maloney has the stamina but tends to get injured a lot (probably because he is a midget). Forrest is good but will probably only start 10-15 games this season. So,there would be some justification in signing Faddy as long as we also sign a poacher.
