James McFadden Signed?

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by adambhoy 25, Dec 22, 2007.

  1. i think he would be a good signing but personally dont feel he's worth 1m a year, we could sign other players who would be far better for the same price

  2. We're gonna play 3.5m for that?................:bbpd:

i would not sign him unless he was under 2million

  3. i dont think he'd be back up at all, him on the left aidin on the right. naka's out injured. once he's back in the squad i dont see why he'l not be challenging jvoh for his spot and hartley/jiri/donati who evers place that is in the middle.

  4. Faddy and McGeady on the wings wold be killer
put Naka in the middle with Brown and that one * of an attack

  5. I think we could get him alot less than that, around 2.5m is a reasonable price.

  6. 3.5 million is as cheap as it gets for a decent EPL player

  7. I reckon faddy is just the sort of one-off maverick who would give us some character and creativity. We only really have Broon, Aidan and Naka who can beat a man and do something special. We need more creativity. Faddy, wee Shaun or even both would be a big improvement in that department. If not, then someone similar. We have been operating with just one fit winger for most of the season.

  8. You have just Rhymed of three creative players, most teams don't have so many,Man Utd only have one in Ronaldo,Liverpool don't have any. They have Torres but he is a great striker but hardly creative.

If anything we need less creativity and more dig in our team.A young Neil Lennon:50:

  9. We did, Charlie Grant, but an injury ruined his career!

Im on the fence with Faddy, mainly because I doubt it will happen anyway.

  10. id rather we brought up teddy bjarnason than bought mcfadden

  11. 3.5 million

WTFFFFFFFF. In 6 months everyone will see that this was an awful move.

  12. i think you've already said that. you really do have a problem with mcfadden dont you?
how can you be so negitive about someone you know nothing about?
were has this other 500k poped up from? it was 3m a few days ago.

p.s. how you feeling? after the shock of him being on exactly 20k a week

  13. Faddy will give us pace and movement. And if he can add some goals to his play he could be a smashing player for celtic. People forget hes only 24 and can only get better.

However having said all that we need someone to protect the defense much more urgently than someone forFaddys position. If we can aford both then he could turn out to be a bargain at 3.mil.

  14. Are you getting paid by McFadden as a Public Relations Officer? Or is it the belief that because he is Scottish he is automatically great?

I bet you Ive seen more Everton matches than you. And I saw all of Scotland's Euro matches. So yet I dont know him of course. Maybe because he isnt quality enough for Everton?

Still 2.5 too much in the transfer fee.

  15. *. you have something against him because he's scottish.
if thats it, pick another team to support, Celtic will always be made up of Scots mate.
Scots have a harder time proving them selfs at celtic park than any other nationality.
so were does this "because he's scottish he's great" fit?
    it dosn't.
you watched all of the Scotland euro matches ? i doubt that HIGHLY

  16. No No No. I have no problem with that. I only have a problem because you over evaluate him because he IS SCOTTISH

If he was English would you want him? Would you? Tell me the honest to * truth.

  17. i over evaluate him? me personally?

tell me this ion, if he was from spain or something, and we didn't know alot about him, and there were the clips of him on youtube that there is of faddy, (see previous post for clips) would you want him?

if he was english irish welsh sweedish i'd take him in a min. 3million quid? for a player who can play in a few diffrent pos change a game and beat top quality keepers from outside the box. you better believe it.

now i've answered your question, dont dont mine please.

  18. Okay I dont think you honestly would. You would offer 3.5 million for him? Why? Beat top quality keepers from outside the box? How often? Its not like its 1 per every few games! And have him as a wing or striker? When Naka comes back what would you do? And mcfadden isnt tall and we know WGS likes having 1 tall striker? Drop mcdonald?

Well if he was in Spain I doubt I would have many opportunities to see him. So how can I evaluate myself? Unless he was playing at Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla or Athetico I couldnt. Because I only get those la liga matches. However, I get tons of Everton.

  19. in EPL terms, if you are only worth 2.5 million at 24 years old you are not worth signing. Seriously, even the worst EPL players in the bottom teams would cost 3 million. If we have to pay 3.5 million for a talented but irregularly starting player in an upper third EPL team then we are getting a bargain IMO. I would be very surprised if other English teams are not willing to pay up to 4.5 million and therebye gazump us.

Personally I think wee Shaun would be a total bargain too if we got him for peanuts as damaged goods because he never settled. We would be getting back the 3 million we lost due to bosman in his transfer fee. You just dont normally get that quality in Britain at those prices. British/Irish type players are ready adapted and no risk. Fair enough if we trawl abroad we might unearth a cheap gem but we would have to find someone that the English teams have missed because they will outbid us every time.

As for Faddy and Shaun being highlighted because they are Scottish, thats not really the case. They are highlighted by Scottish people because without doing any research we know what they can do. We saw Shaun here and I am convinced McFaddens Scotland form is no fluke. International level is far higher competition on average than the SPL and Faddy has looked good at that level. The top English league has always had far too much emphasis on athleticism, strength and pace these days. Faddy may not suite thjat cause he is not pacey or very strong but the SPL doesnt have such pacey players and CL teams often play a more considered passing game. I cant think of a realistic target of the same quality as Faddy and Shaun for the same low figures being quoted. WGS might pull a foreign rabbit out of a hat but there are ony so many Nakas, Arturs etc you can steal from under the rich English clubs noses.
