    Baggage?

He should be lauded for refusing to compromise on his principles and bow down to the Poppy fascists. Couldn't care less if a predicable media outcry ensued. * them.

Regular EPL and International player. What's not to like. Yes from me.

I thought it was to 2018 with a further year.. but you're right..

In that case I wouldn't pay a fee.

Think some might want him for non-footballing reasons if we're honest about it..

He's made 15 appearances for WBA this season, so he's hardly a fringe player.

  10. Exactly he’s Ireland’s main man at the moment and Hayes can’t get a game

I'm also not a fan of labelling him like that. Everyone has a past.

Doubt anyone would seriously want him if he wore a poppy and there wasn't a furore about him not wearing it every year.

I find this attitude quite patronising. He's a good player, a supporter and would do well for us. His views on the poppy are irrelevant.

  14. We can do a lot better..

He's much better than Hayes though..

It is patronising and just plain wrong considering about 95% of the people that have posted saying they would take him have outlined footballing reasons.

It's not patronising, it's just being realistic some people will want him because of what he stands for.. that's just the way it is..

Whether "some" would or would not is not what was being responded to it was the " I doubt anyone would" if it wasn't for the Poppy stuff.

Which is a pretty ill-informed comment.

    And is patronising.

  19. As I'm a fellow Derryman, naturally I'd love to see him at Celtic.

However, I do accept, we need real quality in the squad and therefore he wouldn't be a priority signing.

That said, if he was willing to be a squad player, I think he'd be an excellent player to have in the squad. He's not better than Forrest, Sinclair or Roberts, but he would bring more to the squad than Hayes. He's the sort of player, who IMO, you'd bring on away to Ross County, drawing 1-1 on a * rainy windy night, and he sets up a winner or scores himself just out of sheer determination.

He's nowhere near the standard required. People keep comparing him to Hayes but Hayes wouldn't even make the bench if Paddy was fit.

If we want to improve as a team we need players that'll come in and actually challenge Sinclair and Forrest for a starting position. McClean won't do that, like Hayes doesn't.
