James Forrest

  1. I have been * about getting him, Stokes, and Griff tied down now for ages. If I had a terminator id send him back to take out the author of soccernomics. Ever since Lawwell read that we have made mistake after mistake. Who cares if it costs extra in wages we shouldn't put ourself in this position every time.

  2. Coming into a bit of form of late.

  3. Why'd you want Stokes on a long contract? The club clearly want rid of him.

Forrest flatters to deceive, he has contributed little considering he has been in the first team for about 5 years and if he wants to walk on a free next year then i'd sell him now if we could. I'd not be happy to have a guy that is injured half the season to be on 20k a week.

  4. Because they will be replaced with players who are inferior.

  5. Settle down lads he's not going anywhere.

  6. We play with a lone striker which Stokes isn't, he's not a winger either so we can replace him with someone just as capable who plays on the wing or as a lone striker that would demand the same wage. He got a new contract before Lenny left anyway.

  7. Surely if he wants to leave he could do it better than tell his agent to ignore celtic fir 6/7months . We really should be getting contracts sorted out before this stage anyway

Players don't like letting the cat out the bag,6/7 months of playing here and everyone knowing he wanted to leave.

Or RD dropping him because he is leaving...not the first player to stall on a contract.

If any of it is true.:icon_mrgreen:

  8. Lets not read too much into this... He said he's wanted to stay just a few weeks ago and that he was confident of a deal getting done. Its odd the agent hasnt gotten back to the club but honestly I think its just being blown up. His contract is up either December or July of next season so we arent going to lose him in January. Non story IMO, on his day he can be a huge player for us, and I'll be happy WHEN he resigns.

  9. This seems to have gotten little to no mention but what the * was the halfwit doing the entire time he was on the pitch?

He got by Paterson once, after that he only passed it back or ran into defenders. Apart from that he just gave away fouls and hacked people down for no reason, including the needless kick and resulting free kick for their second.

I was all for keeping him and getting him signed on another deal but his performances have been too hot and cold this season and today made my mind up, ain't good enough and we're as well cashing in on him in January if there's any interest. If not, let him go. Waste of wages and a jersey most of the time, too few and far between he can actually be arsed.

  10. Flatters to deceive.

  11. Re-signs:50:

  12. What a crock of *, he's been one of our better players this season.

  13. James Forrest is a major head-ache for the opposition no matter what level we're playing. He doesn't have the final ball though. He's not improving in that department unfortunately, although, where he is frustrating like McGeady in the final third, he does put in a brilliant shift with his pace when it comes to defending and helping out the full back.

  14. Has no goal threat . His shooting is utterly abysmal , one of the most un-natural strikers of a football you are likely to see in a celtic shirt.

He needs to just take his man on , and put in a cross/slide in a pass. Old school wide play , he has the attributes to be very good at it . There is absolutely no point playing as a Robben/Ribery style inverted winger and cutting inwards all the time if you can't shoot.

  15. It's really strange as well because when he burst on to the scene, his finishing was excellent! Firing shots in with his Right Foot from the Right Wing! I remember it clearly. It's as if he's forgotten how after such long injury time outs! Lennon was very excited with him at the time.

  16. Aye it * me right off.

Cuts inside, beats a player or two, lines up a shot and then drags it wide or it rolls to the keeper. It's shocking really.

  17. Says a lot when you have to dig out a goal from nearly 3 years ago :52:

He is utterly shocking at shooting , honestly as bad as it gets. He cuts under the ball like a lofted pass , technically all wrong.
