    I do think it should have been a 1 year deal rather than a 3, but even if he's lost his pace, he still has something to offer imo.

    I think with the lack of homegrown players in the squad, without being the most vocal on the park, he’s definitely someone we need in the dressing room that gets the club and “knows the city!” That knowledge to pass on to others is invaluable.
    On the park, still can do the business. A good option to have.

    This. He’s the epitome of a Celtic player, he has so much to offer off the park in that he will teach the new recruits what it is to be a Celtic player. The standards, the history and that each player individually has a responsibility to uphold everything that is Celtic to continue the fine traditions.

    The off the park stuff translates directly onto the park. It was a smart decision by Ange.

    I was for a contract renewal, the 3 years surprised me though. Shows that Ange has faith in him, and he doesn’t strike me as the type of guy that has blind faith or would do that as a favour for a great servant. He was working his way back onto form the end of the year, a full pre-season behind him, think there’s still a bit to come from Jamesy than is commonly anticipated.

    Yes I definitely agree he doesn’t hand out contracts for passengers. He’s definitely seen Forrest working his * off and not resting on his laurels as a senior player and leader.

    I was critical of him last year, but only because I know what he’s capable of. Clean slate time and I get the feeling he’s going to turn back the clock.
