Should retire after this season to preserve his legacy and be a one club man, or move on for a few seasons in the Middle East and make some mega bucks before retiring.

It wasn't that I thought Calmac was finished. I said that I didn't think he was as good as everyone was making out and I honestly thought that he was never Captain material........in all fairness he had a hard act to follow! I like Calmac as Captain now and have got my head around that one but I'm still a little unconvinced by him in the midfield at times :56:I'm sorry but it really is all about opinions and we all have our own view of things. The thing on here is you have to be prepared to take the heat when you voice an opinion about a popular player :56:

He's looking like Brown did last season. Negatives in his game far outweigh any positives.

So negative on the ball and his movement off the ball is pretty much non-existent.

Not at his best just now.

Not sure what the problem is, but needs to sort it out.

On his day, he's excellent... I just can't remember when that last was. He's only 30 as well, surely not down to age - unless his injuries have just finally taken their toll.

Was hoping yesterday was a game that he could build back his confidence and maybe get a goal but not to be. The last time he looked his old self for me was when he came on in the league cup semi-final. He really made an impact that day as well of course as scoring the winner. Needs a goal I think.

I know this is the forrest thread. But I don't understand how anyone can doubt Calmac as a midfielder. He's the best in the country, hands down.

Would have Doak and Dembele in front of him now. Regressed so much in the past 2 seasons.

I still don’t think he is 100% fit. Him and MJ are not clicking this season.

Nail on the head Jeannie. I was waving the flag for Calmac when he just broke through and still do. I also have always backed big Bitton even when he was being slaughtered for playing in defence. I said he was played out of position. As you say, Opinions.

Poor game yesterday and just back from a long long time out injured, including last season. Some are too quick to jump and say he’s finished, he’s far from finished. A run of games injury free and he’ll be back to his old self. He’s still only 30, loads more winners medals for James to gather.

You might be right with Forrest as something certainly is not right. With Johnson I do think a loan deal at least for the first half of next season might be what he needs to build himself up confidence wise.

He's not just back. He's been back since the end of October. Started 4 of the last 8 games. Played 45 against Motherwell after coming on at half time. Been * in every game.

All well and good saying a run of games injury free. He won't get a prolonged run of starts if he keeps contributing absolutely nothing on the pitch, when we have a guy 10 years younger in the same position putting him to shame.

Forrest is being left behind by the current squad. It happens.

The "just back from injury" excuse has been done to the hilt, he's * bang average being shown up by a 19/20 year old that can't even speak English. If put as much effort into playing football than he does jumping about celebrating goals he be fantastic.

Forrest is a * amazing player……..when his contract is due up

as for ‘just back from injury’. This seems like a line that’s pulled out every season for Forrest

thanks for your loyalty and service james but yer time is up

Said it for years but even at his worst it’s clear to see how important he is for European football with his ability to keep possession under pressure.

Jota and Abada were brutal at it tonight and kept constantly losing the ball and then firing aimless crosses to nobody instead of keeping the ball.

As * as Forrest has been this season the idea he’s not going to be some sort of miss long term, especially in Europe, is a load of *.

Been one of our only players over the last decade who’s consistently played well in Europe.
