Gordon knew from playing with him he was gonna try feebly side foot it to the right, when he should have put his laces through it and went left. Hearts went straight up and nearly scored. * like that is what loses you leagues.

This is what I expect, would also like to see these 2 switch wings also at times, just gives defenders another puzzle to deal with.
It was 2 sitters, still we got away with it and he did get himself into those positions so hopefully, will burst the net next time.

He must be gutted... Two sitters.

The good news is, with a fit Jota, no way Abada starts in front of him.

Ange will have seen more than enough to know that Forrest is vastly superior, and carries 10 times the goal threat that Abada does.

Think the wee man is gonna be pivotal for us this season

Abada has 7 goals this season already so we’re expecting 70 odd from Jamesy bhoy then :fear:

Did Ange mention him in any of his pressers? Wondering if he was carrying something into the game.

Postecoglou has concerns about Jota but he revealed James Forrest was only taken off at half time at Tannadice as a precaution.

He said: “I’m hoping it’s nothing too bad. He felt a bit tight and, with the game going the way it was going, we had enough injuries coming off the last game.

“Liel Abada needed a bit of a run anyway, so we wanted to put him on.

“I don’t know if it’s anything serious. But it was more of a precaution than anything else.”

Good management to take him off. Too good a player to risk.

Lets hope that by taking him off at half time and no doubt resting him Thursday when Abada can start that he is good to go again next Sunday against Motherwell.

As I said in the match thread. It's with a heavy heart to write this but I'm done with sentiment for the wrong reasons. We need to think about replacing Jamesy with a permanent solution. Injuries have taken its toll. With Ange's high tempo style, heavy training demands, we can no longer rely on him. Like it's 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

Tin hat firmly on, but can't see how the heavy demands required matches his physique and body.

Or like under Rodgers it took his body time to adjust to the higher intensity.

Maybe......there's only so much the body can take. Doesn't get easier the older you get, with each injury just taking a little more away from your game. I want to be wrong. I want all physios, sports scientists, nutrionists and medical folk in place to support him but it's hard to see him getting back to that level.

    Is he done?

Looks to have lost a yard and his finishing is shambolic this season. Missed so many sitters you'd expect him to tuck away. Still good at linking up and close control but that burst has disappeared.

Worrying how injury prone he has become again.

    he's finished.

He cant keep up with Ange's style of play and he's not been of the injury bench for 2 years, time to go wee man, thanks for the memories but retirement is in your future.

You can almost immediately tell if Forrest is going to have a good game. If he fails to beat his man on the first and perhaps the 2nd attempt he then starts to feel his legs, adjust his socks and just looking as though he would rather be somewhere else. Whether it's Ange's high tempo style or that he's just getting older and picking up more injuries I don't know but he looks as though he's not going to be able to contribute much just when we need him the most.

Really feels like we're getting to the stage where he can't be relied on. 21 games and 3 goals in the league since the start of last season. If Maeda comes in and is the player we're all hoping for, it could be difficult for Forrest to keep his place.

He's looked a lot slower for a while now, not just today.
