James Forrest

All due respect mate I think that's mad. I feel like he's been out of sight for a couple of months and you've forgotten what he can do. What makes you think he can't do it anymore?

Nah cant agree with you there. He can be a bit injury prone. But I think his style will fit exactly into Ange's system. We need a few options in the attacking positions and Ange definetely puts a lot of emphasis on his wingers.....playing them more in a front 3. Jamesy will slot in perfect I think. Abada cant go the whole season on top form. Forrest and him rotating would seem perfect to me. With Mikey Johnson rotating with Jota on the other side. It sounds like a good plan

 

Forrest will flourish under Ange's system, and is the last piece of the puzzle for our attack imo.

I like Abada, and I think by the end of next season he'll 100% be first choice, but for me Forrest still has a lot to offer and Abada has been off the boil for a while.

 

Actually reckon we are in good nick winger wise, with Jota and MJ for the left side and even Monty.
And JF on the right side, along with Abada.
Having all fit is always the challenge.

 

Abada is still just a teenager remember, and it was never intended that he would be the first choice or that he would have had to play as much as he has because of Forrest's absence. Time is definitely on his side, but totally agree that Forrest has not only more to offer than Abada does at this stage, and still has a few good years in his legs.

I think a lot of people forget his age! Hes done brilliant to move to a new country and kick on like he has since joining, still a lot to learn

 

Well I hope your wrong that Forrest's best days are behind him because when he is at his best he a top quality player for us. Typically at the top level players can be performing at or near their peak into the early 30's so I would hope we still have at least another couple of years with Forrest at the top of his game left. But at 30 there is no question that he is in the latter years of his career at the top level.

 

If celtic can manage Forrests injuries to a minimum and get a good 35 games a season for a few years.....excellent.
Coz an in form Forrest can be unplayable at times. Scores very important goals and is just some player on his day

 

You take away the amount of goals and assists he provides and that would be a big loss for any team. The sooner he's available for selection the better.

 

Will he be in the squad tonight?

 

The whole of the Seville team were early 30s and all at the top of their game imo. Football fans have got so ageist in the last decade. Plenty of football left in him.

 

Big issue with Jamesy is that he's an old fashioned winger, his game is dependent upon his turn of pace. That couldn't be said of Sutton, Hartson, Lambert, even Thompson etc. Agathe was like 28 and he still had his pace.

Unfortunately, once a winger loses his pace, he's either finished or he has to move inside to a more central role. Im not sure Forrest is gonna be that type of player.

Im looking forward to Jamesy coming back into the team, Im sure he still has several good seasons left in him, but his carear longevity is gonna be shorter than the likes of Callum McGregor.

 

Last season we only really had Moi as a winger. Soon we will have the choice of Forrest, Jota, Abada, Kyogo, Johnstone! All very comfortable on the wing.

 

No question our lack of width was one of the major factors in our poor form last season.

 

Should be able to, as no need to flog him now that we have options. Still makes me angry when I think of players, like KT, who were constantly flogged due to lack of adequate back up.

 

It hasn’t been for several years because he is no where near as quick as he used to be. His shift to more movement and drifting inside coinceded with his rise in goals as well.
