It will be like a new signing having him back, so we will be told anyway.

Been playing without real width for the majority of the season.

I'd like to see the team that started at Ibrox, same shape but with Forrest in for Christie and Welsh in for Bitton.

It's an on form Forrest we miss, no the one that started this season. But even off form, we're just a better balanced team with the width he gives, he occupies an apposing player the whole match.

Yet another player who has regressed under lennon, he's a top player when he isn't hiding in games, absence makes the heart grow fonder lol.

I'll go against the grain here, he was shirking responsibility before his injury this season, the number of times he'd get the ball in wide areas & then refuse to take on his man by instead passing backwards was infuriating, at nearly 30 he doesn't have the pace he once had & perhaps that's why he wasn't taking on his man this season because he knows that, without his pace he has no other tricks up his sleeve to beat a man, goes missing too often against the huns & tbh I'm not pining for his return like most.

I always thought to myself “we are going to be so * when Forrest gets injured” but never did I think it would be this bad. We need him back fully fit for next season.

The results and performances will improve when he returns. Our best player by a distance.

The sooner he is back the better , we keep playing through the middle and Forrest will stretch the defence .

To be fair to Forrest he was playing at less then 100% before the ankle finally got done in the game in Sarajevo. For me alongside Ajer (if by a miracle we can persuade him to stay) McGregor and Forrest should be the mainstays we build a new team around this summer IMHO. Will be delighted when he is fit enough to be back in the team which hopefully will be soon.

I 100% disagree. Yes, he is cracking but no player can do what Forres does. People don't watch the work-rate. Seriously. He's a diamond in the team. When the idiots on here say 'he's off form', 'hardly in the game'

Ha, where are they now? He's one of the reasons we aren't vulnerable at the back. Great Celtic player and we're fkd without him.

Could play me behind him and I'd do okay. People don't realise. It's like Nakamura all over again. These guys naturally fill in as well as being creative. McGeady almost got there in the end! Maloney wasnt quite as good. Naka, spot on. Supporters don't notice the work.

James Forrest will be a contender for dream team status.

Il have 1 of whatever your on!

What does forest do to stop us being vulnerable at the back? Hes one of the least defending players in the team.

I don't rate Forrest against teams beyond the standard of Aberdeen, 9/10 he's pish against stronger opposition in Europe and against Sevco, which he's shown at International level too where he also gets shown up regularly against stronger opposition. One of the biggest reasons I didn't want Lennon back is because I knew that he couldn't see past Forrest & doesn't want to give anyone outwith him a consistent run at RW, Shved & Karamoko had no chance under Lennon being RWs when that's where Forrest plays, it's been obvious we've needed to sign a new RW too yet we haven't, because Lennon doesn't want to play anyone besides Forrest in that position, his place in the team is always secured regardless of his form, we're losing players like Shved & Karamoko without seeing them because Lennon doesn't want to give anyone a fair run at RW that might displace Forrest from the team, I'm convinced Lennon has adoption papers with Forrests name on them.

I agree. He tends to split opinion amongst fellow supporters — always has — but I think we are a better team with Forrest playing, regardless of his form. He’s an excellent all-round player, gives the opposition a lot of problems, and he scores a lot of important goals. I’m confident that had Forrest not been out injured, we wouldn’t be so far behind them.
