  1. We all take the wee man for granted and only seeing clips of the goals for the quad treb shows how vital he is and its also noted that eddy has struggled without him .

  2. Can’t underestimate just how much we miss him
He panics defences and creates so much

fingers crossed his rehab is going well and he can give us a big boost in time for the busy fixtures with the re-arranged games

  3. How much are we missing this man BTW.

People might think its kneejerk/bull/nonsense or whatever but we are clearly seeing the effects it has on our play not having a guy like him and even Sinclair on both wings. It's killing us.

  4. He never shows up against the Huns, even when he is on form.

However there's no doubt he plays his part against the other teams.

    We do miss him.

  6. Scored one of my favourite goals against them, went through them like they were nothing

Scored a late winner against them as well a couple seasons ago

    Love that goal.

    PC Lustig :74: :rofl::rofl:

  7. He is generally anonymous against them.

Given the amount of hidings we dished out to them during the Rodgers era, 2 goals is a very poor return for a player who scores goals against all the other sides.

  8. Was more the ‘never’, thought that was harsh. Seen him have some cracking games against them

  9. Even in games he's scored, and the 5-0 would be his best ever performance against them, he's not really done much.

Like Roberts was the opposite, completely tore them to pieces on several occasions. Even where he didn't get a goal or even an assist, was crucial in build up play.

  10. NL: "Jamesy will hopefully be back in training in a couple of weeks. He’s been hugely missed. Not only his goals, but assists as well. He was coming into really good form. It’s been a very frustrating period for him but having him back will be like a new signing."

  11. Sounds like still a month away.
Agree that he rarely does the business against Huns.

  12. Like all truly top players he comes up with the goods on the big stage which Forrest has done so many times for us over the past 4-5 years.

  13. He hasn't really tbh, he's got 2 goals against the huns & they've been * * when he's played them, in Europe he's only scored one goal after the Qualifiers against Lazio in that time as well.

  14. His goals in qualifiers have been vital, and he did score against ajax in a champions league group game. He's also got goals in Cup finals and semi finals.

Agree his record against the huns could be better but it would be interesting to see how many he has actually started since they came up, and what his assist stats are.

  15. Yeah I deliberately said after the Qualifiers given the opposition is stronger at that point? That was a penalty against Ajax & the poster was talking about over the last 4/5 seasons. Goals in the semis & finals are great but we all know he can do it consistently against every team in Scotland outwith the scum so nothing I wouldn't expect from him. Where was he in last years final against them?

At nearly 30 & having lost a lot of his pace, I don't think he'll be a main player under the new manager after Lenny. Lenny has a soft spot for him which other managers won't, you could tell that Brendan grew tired of his ineffectiveness against Sevco hence why he went with Roberts in some of those games instead.

  16. At 30 he is at peak and should not have lost any pace ,should be a lit wiser to win all his experience now .

  17. No chance he'll be as fast as he was between 18-28

  18. No one in our squad has delivered consistently in group stage games and its winning goals in places like roseborg that get you to group stages. Finals and semis are the big stage for us and to be frank we are crying out for players to deliver consistently against every other team in Scotland at the moment.

Where was anyone except the goalkeeper in that final?

Patrick Roberts done nothing of any note against any team in his final year here because he couldn't get near the starting 11. Even when he did play against them I can only think of 2 assists.

I don't think he has lost a lot of his pace. He's obviously not as quick as he was at 21 but he's probably still one of the quickest in the squad.

Tbf James forrest has contributed more to celtic over the last 4-5 years than most at the club, including the guy in your avatar and user name.
