Funny how people view the game differently, I thought he was * today but seen plenty of people say they thought he was good.

I thought he played well. got up and down the right hand side, dovetailed well with Lustig, played some excellent one twos, has a couple of shots that were unlucky to be deflected or saved and bagged himself an assist.

He can be happy with his nights work.

More importantly than that, Brendan loves him so he is all set.

A little of both really, his positioning off the ball was excellent and he made some great runs, just a couple of times he made the wrong decision at the last moment. I think that will come with more matches, which is why I would have liked him to stay on.

He goes out of his way to make you miss Paddy even more.

    Terrible player.

Wouldnt go that far but it is glaringly obvious he is a inferior player to Paddy Roberts.

And is probably why we have Forrest and Paddy wont be back.

I think we need to realise where we ply our trade sometimes.

James Forrest is an excellent Celtic player.

Forrest is brilliant. His crossing has got Alot better. Some cuts he done were fantastic! As a winger he can't beat everyone and people seem to get annoyed when they don't get by once and proclaim they've done * all game and forget about the assist and near miss goals.

I like Forrest. Few years back I had had enough of him and wanted him gone but now he is 1st choice right winger imo. My da hates him though he just cant do anything right- he even hates his hair.

He's got a really good first touch. His close control is really good and is a strong runner.

But his technique can be absolutely honking at times. Can't shoot with his laces or the side of his foot and his final ball can be really poor.

Good for the SPL but realistically we need a better quality of player of we're to progress in Europe.

    He really is.

He has the most important thing in european football... pace. He has also toughened up in the last year or two. He tracks back, he helps his RB and if Moussa had his shooting boots on last season would have been the architect of one of our most famous European goals.

I like him, but it he's our first choice right winger this season I'll be massively, massively disappointed.

He's excellent in spells, but too often he does a lot of running without doing much with the ball.

He's not a brilliant player and shouldn't start but I think on his day he can beat anyone at the byline.

He's been here for so long and I feel like he is so unpredictable as to what kind of performance he will put in. He is inconsistency personified:

    Hes pacy
Can beat just about any defender
    Can finish
    Can draw penalties
Can have a decent defensive workrate

All of the above he has shown but sometimes you feel like he has a mental block. I wonder if a specialist coach for wingers would be beneficial.
I don't imagine we have anyone like that who would pick up specific ways to beat a player.

Anyway I hope that Hayes will be deployed both across the right and left this season.

Forrest and Hayes at RW is a big step down from Paddy.

Still think we will sign someone for RW.

Edit: Hijacking a comment from the Hayes thread:

Hes been here for 8 years, has scored and assisted so many games, has always been around the first team and he doesn't have a song.

I'll never forget his goal vs Karagandy, I'd say he is the most underappreciated player of the last 10 years.

I've slated him plenty a time but don't ever want to see him leave.
Madness to think he is not long due his testimonial at 26.
