I still think he'll start with Roberts against Barca, Forrest has had his chances in the CL against Man City and BMG x2 and blew his chances from starting the next CL game imo.

A decent performance against Killie does not merit a start against Barca, same goes for Armstrong.

What Roberts did when he came on against BMG was enough imo to allow him to start against Barca next week.

Would you actually go with Forrest and Armstrong before Roberts and Bitton against Barca at home?

I'd actually probably have a midfield 3 of Armstrong, Brown and Bitton. I'd start with Roberts.

It's just a brass neck seeing you have a pop at Armstrong in different threads because he's doing a better job than your man Bitton. Grow up.

Yes. Armstrong is streets ahead of Bitton at the moment. Roberts cannot be trusted to backtrack. It's why Forrest starts.

I thought he did well when he came on, at least tried to go past his man and make things happen.

I think Brendan's thinking, think mind you, was to have three grafters in midfield, so that's why both Forrest and Roberts didn't start. Unfortunately neither McGregor or Rogic grafted. Should have started Henderson in the midfield, and shoved McGregor to left back.

McGregor at LB is ok against Killie, different story against Barca. Izzy was decent tonight too.

I thought Forrest did well when he came on, but I was not surprised with the starting formation.

One recognised wide man, and pack the middle of the park against the best short passing team in world football, who can play their way through you and rarely go down wide areas.

Made perfect sense to me, and I actually don't think McGregor was as bad as some are making out.

Anyway, Forrest did well when he came on, and must be in contention for a start on Sunday.

McGregor is a decent wee player, but for all his endeavour he lacks that bit of quality needed at this level.

I don't think Izzy is up to the mark anymore, not good enough to replace Tierney for sure.
For Sunday I would stick McGregor in at left back and drop Izzy otherwise McInnes will definitely target Izzy's left flank.

I would also bring Henderson into the midfield, as we will need his fight and energy in the there against Aberdeen.

    Tierney is definitely better.

I think we should go with

    Brown Armstrong

    Roberts Rogic Forrest

    Dembele

In the cup final, assuming Sinclair is out.

Aye, that's the way to go I think.

Time for Roberts to step up again.

Could even have Rab and Jamesy swapping flanks throughout the game.

I don't know if we can afford Forrest and Roberts in the same team against Aberdeen, as its going to be a very physical game.
