Honestly can't believe the love in on here for that performance tonight. Came on here expecting him to be getting pelters & he's being celebrated. Truthfully thought he was extremely poor tonight. Shooting is bordering on laughable (outside of the foot nonsense & pathetic trundlers), STILL can't cross a ball and has the awareness & technique of a Sunday league player. Goal aside he was pish!

Were you at the game? I thought he was decent at the game but watching back the highlights he played even better than I thought, even allowing for him being on the left.

Honestly I thought he was totally underwhelming. He has so little quality on the ball it infuriates me.

He was easily our best player tonight.

He set up so many chances, had a at least one shot that the keeper did really well to save and scored.

He was very good tonight, he has been very good all season.

Ach maybe I'm being too harsh, I'll watch it back & see but on first viewing I thought he was really poor.

He's been involved in the club since he was 9 I'm sure.

He is playing really well this season.

He will start on Saturday surely.

JAMES Forrest hailed Celtic’s persistence after they finally prevailed against a dogged Alloa Athletic side to book their place in the League Cup last four.
The Hoops were in complete control against the League One outfit from the first whistle but failed to profit from numerous chances and promising positions, with the visitors’ goalkeeper Neil Parry producing some excellent saves.
Forrest was one of the many Celtic players to be frustrated by Parry and the Wasps’ battling backline, but he eventually found a way through seven minutes from time with a fine run and finish after a terrific cross-field pass from substitute Ryan Christie.
And Moussa Dembele sealed the champions’ passage to the semi-final draw in the dying seconds with a ferocious shot that flew into the top corner.
Speaking after cup clash, Forrest said: “We know it was the quarter-final of a cup, their biggest game of the season and we knew they were going to make it difficult. Credit to Alloa, they did that, but we kept going and managed to get the goal and the breakthrough.
“We had a lot of chances in the first-half and could have scored in the first minute. The game might have been different but we kept going and got into the next round, which was the most important thing.
“We ended up getting the goal, we got a second goal and we need to take that form on, Hopefully we can do well in the semi-final and get into the final.”
The win over means Alloa Celtic’s treble ambitions remain intact but Forrest is only looking ahead to the next game, with Kilmarnock up next in the league.
“We’ve started well but no-one’s talked about that (the treble). Getting into the Champions League was the first goal and this cup has come around quicker than normal, but we’re in the semi final and we just need to get back into the league form on Saturday and try to get another three points.
“We’ll see who we get in the draw and take it from there. We’ll give it our all and try to get into the final. It’s a one-off game, you never know but we need to go in with the right attitude as we did against Alloa."

I actually don't think he was great 1st half.

    Improved massively 2nd period.

Looks like Rodgers has restored his love for football, looks like a different player.
