James Forrest

He was always going to be given a chance because playing anyone else there is playing someone out of position.

I don't think he's started the season too bad though. At least it let's us see Brendan's 4-3-3

 

Was decent tonight, still don't think he is good enough to be here, put him up against someone half decent and he will go missing as per.

 

He played ok but keeps flicking his * hair does ma * in..

 

He has a future here. He is easily good enough to be part of our squad.

 

Why is he still here?

 

I'll gie him his due, he pulled his socks up and got stuck in last night - only at one point after being fouled did he do a "Forrest".

Much better! Still needs to produce far more in terms of chances though.

 

Thought he put in a good shift and went about his business well.

Have always been a fan of Forrest throughout his career here, wavered a little over the past years, and despite all the flak he gets - There's still a good player in there for me.

What's 100% clear in my eyes, also, is we genuinely need someone like him in the side. I want improvement, I would rather have a better option than James Forrest but we simply don't have it. If Roberts was to be out with a long term injury, we'd have absolutely no penetration and no pace in wide areas, and that's something Rodgers clearly believes also, with Forrest starting the biggest game of his Celtic managerial career thus for.

We need improvement on him, or him to up his game/attitude, of that I can agree. Unless we go out and sign at least two wingers, I want him to hang around.

 

Been good all pre-season for me. Could really come on to his game under Rodgers. Wonder if there's any chance of signing on or if that ship has sailed.

We need someone down that side who can run at full backs like him but can also produce the goods. All to often Forrest runs himself into the corner and passes it back the way or loses possession, we need somecunt who can whip it in or cut in and link up around the box like Paddy.

 

Finally he actually showed a bit of dig, worked his * off all night, if he can do that consistently then he will earn a new contract.

 

He is trying to impress Rogers - plenty of pressing and plenty of tracking back, which is unusual for Forrest - and he didn't sit on his * pulling up his socks for 5 minutes every time he falls over - which is all positive.....however apart from some moments particularly in the first half, he did not go past anyone.

 

Broony should grab the * and gie him a skinhead.

His attitude in recent weeks is slowly turning me back in his favour.

Another improved performance when we needed it. He will be important while Roberts is out.

 

I'm not his biggest fan, but credit where's it's due, he played well today.
