From Smithy18 in the other thread that got closed

Why does he need to grow a set? He is a flair player.

No matter how talented a player you are you need to work hard for the team, he did that today but that is the only time in the last 10-15 games from him. It is something he did when he first came into the team.

He needs to learn that no matter how talented you are the team comes first, something I * loved about Nakamura and Aiden McGeady was how hard they worked off the ball, forever chasing back, harrying opponents and helping out the defence.

That kind of attitude carried us to the last 16 of the Champions League twice in a row. It's something I really want him to add to his game.

    That will come though.

McGeady was awfy petulant at first, it wasn't until Strachan got a hold of him that he changed his game and started working back.

Aye and after he worked a lot on his fitness. That was Martin O'Neill's style of management, attackers attack, defenders defend. Strachan liked a mix and it's that mix I believe we need in the current formation.

There is times this season I believe it has cost us, 1 goal we conceded against Kilmarnock where he gave up comes to mind.

He was excellent off the ball the day though, so I hope Lenny has had a word in his ear. Lennon wouldn't have stood for lazyness and petulance off the pitch so I doubt he would on the sidelines.

Forrest in the first half was invisible, although he wasn't getting much support. Second half, was like a new player, getting on the ball and making things happen. Like i said in the match thread, him and cha were the standouts today, with the rest of the team being decent.

Don't forget this is a young guy who has dug us out of a hole on more than one occasion this season, he's by no means the finished article but he brings a helluva lot to the team and has became a vital part of lenny's jigsaw.

Potentially quality player, has a few facets of his game he needs polished but he'll get there.

    My opinion on James Forrest

He is a potential talent as was Gerry Creany , Mark Burchill, Brian McGlaughlin ...ect

Too many are building him up to early.

He has not a spec of the talent McGeady had .

He has not the heart when things get rough

He has pace & movement & an eye for a pass .

I am not expecting teams to be banging on the doors of Paradise in January to sign young James

If he's fed the ball he will create. First half he was quiet because there was far too many punts up the park.

I think a lot of people forget how young Forrest is, he is still learning but he is an absolute star in our team.

Still my player of this season.

thats ridiculous, he's the most talented youngster in Scotland and one of the most talented in Britain. He may not have the skill on the ball that McGeady had but very few do, he has incredible pace and a great cross, thats all that is necessary to be a great winger.
