One year is the maximum for loan deals now I believe.

I don't think there's any issue renewing the loan for another year when the initial one is up, it just can't be for more than one year, on paper, at a time.

I'm not really sure what difference that makes, or what loophole they were trying to erase, for them to do it that way now, but it's FIFA so there may not even be a reason for them to have changed it!

Gives me a bit of hope seeing the huns linked with him as well, maybe means it's not definite this goes ahead and our names are just being used.

So what is it, the board/club only sign projects and players for the future? They incapable of scouting and being able to sign players for the here and now?

Because the narrative and working theory is Rodgers (rightly) will be off after this season and the club don't want to spend on him.
But we will flood the team with punts and projects that another manager may not want either?

Why can't we just * act like a modern club and hire a * DoF and sign players that we need, now!

A loan for a city player, here we go again!

Unless Scales or a Trusty are away I don't see where he fits into the squad.

Love the name and he’s highly thought of. Would really hope there’s a buy option with it.

Would say he’s a back up option and can play both left or right side, at least its a rumour.

Would be a replacement for Nawrocki, essentially Murray would be punted alongside Welsh.

What we need is a replacement for Scales though, really poor from the club if this is true.

This proves we dont have a proper set up and the scouts we use (probably about 4 of them) are just reporting back to the suits.

I mean after all, if this is what your robust, fact finding, scouting team have come up with as a best option long term is, then what are we doing? What's the * point.

This, where we are now, is our glass ceiling. Zero aspirations to be the best we can be. Just be content.

Loan with option to buy or nothing on this.
Idah option would have been about £4M if we'd not been so feckin desperate and in panic mode.

Straight loans are only for established short term players we could never buy (Bellamy, Robbie Keane etc)

We are struggling to hit quotas on champions league squad. If we sign another CB it means there's no room for a 3rd striker. Unless we are just gonna refuse to sign any wingers of course

Absolutely no interest in a loan without an option.

Doohan, Murray, Ralston, KT, McGregor, Forrest, McCowan all count for the quota and will be in the UCL squad list for sure.
Welsh if he remains and that'll be the quota met.
Anyone under 21 doesn't need to be registered, so guys like Engels and Osmand wouldn't need to be registered to still be able to play ( I think).

Including Engels though, but excluding Jota (assuming he is out til the new year), think it's 22 players we are registering as it stands, space for 3 more.

Obviously loan to buy is always preferred, but I never understand why people instantly flip their lid at straight loan signings from big teams in bigger leagues, as long as you're not flooding the team with them, nothing wrong with having one or two if they're actually good and going to contribute. Roberts and Denayer were great for us. It's a market worth making use of, plenty of teams do.

No mention of LTB or not so think folk need to calm down. Not the end of the world if we do have a loan player without an option, if they do a good job for the season then that's the main thing.

Too many so quick to anger.
