That is a very Scottish way of looking at it:56:

I know what you are meaning but he is still only 16 after all. He will never be a giant but people focus too much on physicality, been a problem in this country for years.

He looked strong enough to me. Actually looked like a "strength" of his..

Uses his body well back to goal..

We let Andy Robertson go to early too because he was too small!

Imagine if Barca had done that with Iniesta or Messi!!!

Think of Griffiths and Hooper when they were his age as well.

Hooper at Grays when he would have been around 17 or 18. Chicken legs.

I had a feeling somebody would say "scottish mentality" but its not. If he is his size and a number 10 or a winger then its not an issue.

If you are a '9' in a 4-2-3-1 formation (which is what we will be playing for a while until there is a formation shift in football) then you have to either be very technical or a big unit. People just think "aye but messi is only 5"7" but what you have with Messi is actually the very point im making. It only works (when he played 9 before Suarez played) for him because of how technically gifted he is.

In world football, how many number 9's at the top level are <6ft. Im talking actual number 9s in systems with only one upfront. The ones i can think of is Aguero, Falcao and Griezmann. Both Aguero and Griezmann are brilliant technically and have a low centre of gravity which helps them. They also have alot to their all round game. Falcao on the other hand is a great finisher with great movement and is very good in the air.

An example closer to home is the very reason Griffiths is not as effective in Europe and Internationally as somebody like Dembele.

My point is he absolutely can make it in football but he will have to work incrediable hard on his technical side to make it at a high level because his natural physical side could let him down (unless he grows half a foot).

Id agree with Mick, you'd be hoping he grows another couple of inches. As he's a small player and as he says he's not a fast smaller player like a Griffiths more of a Scott McDonald small, it will hold him back.

He's 16 and looks impressive. That's all I'm gonna say on it now.

Lets just leave it at that for once and hope we have an exciting prospect.

Trust me I really hope he blossoms into a top quality striker for us and he does look brilliant for his age.

He's 5' 10 which isn't that bad height wise anyway but he probably will get another wee growth spurt and fill out as he develops..

I likened him to Hooper but even now he's an inch taller than Hooper but style wise definitely reminds of him a bit. Not lightening quick but his movement and cleverness make up for it, and not slow anyway. His touches are class and he link's up well, nice skill also. Strong and holds it up back to goal well just like Hooper..

    Not a bad finisher either..

5'10 isn't bad at all. Not seen his aerial ability thus far. If he can leap like Falcao or Larsson he'll be just fine.

I think the comparison to Hooper is a good one. He was never fast, decent over 10 yards but that was about it. Made up for it with his size and strength. Aitchison has plenty of time to "fill out" if need be.

Only checked wiki so that may not be 100% accurate but I think it is..

Think he's scored a few but is definitely better on the deck. As I say his movement beats speed as you mention Hooper but even the 2 above have been more cute with there movement than anything special pace wise..

Not been this excited since..... * knows maybe McGeady, Maloney coming from the ranks. I'd say KT but he was a very sudden progression and bang, in the side..

He looks a nice player, but I was more excited by Tony Watt.

He had the talent, the physique and a bit of an edge. Ultimately it's the last two things that have overshadowed the first.

I forgot Watt to be fair. I was majorly buzzing about him as well..

Aitchison seems to have a better head on his shoulders and I'm sure will go further in the game than Tony Watt..

Other than Tierney, I've never wanted a young home grown player to succeed more than Twatt in the last few years.

To steal a line from Marlon Brando, he could've been a contender!

Physically and pace wise he seemed the striker that this country wasn't producing anymore. Add in to that his unpredictable rawness and he looked a star that i genuinely thought would eventually be our number 1 striker..

I'd never get over it if I was him..

    Something special about Jack though..
