I think it's a joke that you can play for a country if you have even one grandparent from that country never mind having just went to school there for 5 years! The Scotland team has a good few English rejects in it already without Driver being added to the list!

Driver and Ferux have spent half of their childhood in Scotland. It would not be right to continue to treat them as foreigners. Bordering on racist. Residence in your formative years is a lot more valid than fascist ideas like bloodlines that allow you to play because of an ancestor.

If someone is culturally Scottish, then I have no problem with it. He's been here since he was 7. I doubt he considers himself Somalian. I think it's also true for Driver; his formative years were spent here. Both these guys are the players they are, because of the time and effort put in by Scottish football clubs and the education and social system here. Surely we should be allowed to reap the benefits of this?

its much a similar story to Lukasz Podolski with Germany and Poland. personally i see him as polish, espeically with a name like that, but you gota ask, would he be as "big" if he wasnt playing with the Germans?!

i say the hoops should bring him in in january!!

Good to see some initiative from the SFA. Personally I've nothing against anyone raised in Scotland playing for us, especially if they can pass a ball - the most un-Scottish of all footballing traits it would seem.
