"Who gives a * about domestic cups while we grace the CL" etc. People starting threads about domestic cups like its nothing to win. People who rather win the league by a large margin of points at the cost of cup titles. Sounds like defending the fact that we have 2 in 9 to me. But kid, you are in constant denial on here on a daily basis so why even bother having a discussion with you?

The gulf between us and the nearest challenger is currently larger than it was then.

He hasn't equalled Strachan's achievements. Strachan reached the last 16 twice and won 3 in a row when we weren't much better than Rangers.

Both men play * football, I just think Strachan is a better manager.

And yet not one bit of proof that anyone has said 2 out of 9 is acceptable.

I don't think making the CL is a 'wonderful' achievement anymore, not in the past couple of seasons anyway given the strength of the opposition. If we made it through a tough qualifying campaign then i guess it would be.

The pinnacle of European football is the Champions League.

ANYTHING that we do to get us to that place (especially since we are in no way regular competitors) is an achievement to be proud of.

    No doubts about it.

You think the gulf between us and the rest is greater now than it was in MON's time?

Jaysus Christ it is getting tedious spoon feeding some of you with facts.. After we win a completely noncompetitive domestic league we are then seeded against teams from Norn Iron, Sweden and Kazakhstan....

Do you think it was a wonderful achievement beating beating Cliftonville(part time) , Elfsberg and Karagandy????

    Exactly.

I don't care what anyone says. I'll always expect a strong Celtic side to see off Helsinki, Helsingborgs, Cliftonville, Elfsborg and Karagandy.

Reaching the CL is brilliant. The CL nights in CP are indescribable. The qualifying round wins? Expected.

Not really, it should almost be expected given the teams we have been getting drawn against. Managing to get some points on the board in the group stages is a massive achievement though.
