Then why is it called Kilkenny City and not Kilkenny Town? Its a small City, but it is a City. It has a population of 24,000!

kilkenny does not have full city status, kilkenny likes to self promote itself as a city when it isnt really a city!

    And Armagh City :50:

If Lisburn gets a mention we can't leave out Armagh haha, Lisburn would be a small town in most countries.

Armagh is the historic capital of Ireland, also has a catherdal which i think makes any place into a city in Ireland as far as i know..

Yep, and Armagh's tiny as well. In fact Lurgan and Portadown are both bigger.

Hate to beat a dead horse but Kilkenny has TWO cathedrals! St Canice's (church of ireland) and St Mary's (catholic) :smiley-laughing002:

go ahead and google "irelands oldest city" and then comeback to me, it was founded in 914AD...the tri colour was brought to ireland by a waterford man called thomas frances meagher and the first time the tricolour was flown in ireland was in waterford, 33 the mall to be exact! we are also famous for our waterford crystal and ray ban sun glasses!!
