Injury update thread

Any idea when we can expect them back and able to contribute towards our CL qualifiers?

Hoping we don't get as many out injured again this season as we had last season

 

With Nir Bitton, Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic all on Celtic’s treatment table the manager is keen to assess all options over the international break.

He said: “Nir will be three or four weeks, Ajer will be 10 days. We are hoping to have him back for Hamilton. We will need to send Jozo to a specialist and we will take it from there.


Lennon continued: “I’m hoping to get Tom Rogic back in contention for the squad for the Hamilton game.

“He looks brilliant. He’s in great condition, he’s lost weight and he’s training well.”

 

So we are minimum 2 CB down for the next month!

 

Looks that way, scary thing is that Jack H may make the bench??

 

Shved out with an ankle injury now it seems, picked up in training with Ukraine. Sent back from international duty.

 

NL: “They’ve all came back fit and well. The only absentees we have is Nir who is out for three weeks with a hamstring injury. Mikey with a groin injury and Jozo with an ongoing knee problem but he’s seeing a specialist today.

 

Good to hear all the international bhoys are back fit.

 

Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic is to have surgery on his knee that could rule him out for the next six matches.

The centre-back saw a specialist on Friday and has been booked in for a clean-up operation.



The 25-year-old hasn’t played for Celtic since the Europa League first-leg win over AIK on August 22.

Neil Lennon told Celtic TV: "Jozo's in for surgery. He's going to have a clean-out in the knee, an arthroscopy it's called."


Celtic are set to have an unchanged squad for the match with fringe players Luca Connell and Marian Shved the only players to join Simunovic, Nir Bitton (hamstring) and Mikey Johnston (groin) on the sidelines.

"Nir and Mikey will be more towards the end of the month," Lennon said.

"There are no fresh injury worries from the weekend, just a couple of injured boys in training.

"Luca Connell picked up a slight thigh strain and Marian has a little ankle sprain as well, so they will be out for Thursday."

Interesting. Arthroscopy is usually used for meniscus injuries and ACL damage.

 

Disappointing Mikey is out til at least the end of the month..

 

Anyone got any updates on the injuries situation, will Griff and Mikey be ready to go after the International break ? Arzani, is he any closer to a comeback ?

 

Lenny said Griff was in contention to play a part vs Motherwell so should be fine after International break.

Johnston was on the bench vs Hibs in the cup but then back out of the squad for Lazio and Motherwell so not sure if he’s picked up another knock.

Arzani doesn’t exist.

 

I’d like to report that my sore thumb is getting better, however my bones in my left leg are louping again as it is colder now and those old fractures twinge now and again.
